Can still rose wine be aged? Comment from : georgi georgiev |
I love rose wines, including really rare and even crazy wines like the Duzsi Tamas Cabernet Franc (Hungary, Szekszard, 16 abv barrel aged late harvest wine made from botrytized grapes but vinified bone dry) The oldest non-fortified rose I've ever tasted was Gitton's Sancerre rose 1980 and 1986 The wines were alive, who would expect that? Comment from : Смолин Сергей |
I'm not a big fan of the Provence rose style; they seem "strangled" of any residual sugar/fruitiness The Anjou roses are very interesting, on the other hand, they are crisp while retaining a little sugar/fruitiness to make the wine taste lively Comment from : Unclean Blessing (uncleanblessing) |
Easy: the best rosé I ever drank (yes, I drink!) was a Marques de Murrietta I need to try Lopez de Heredia in rosé Comment from : Paul Franssen |
I wouldn’t say no to a glass of Domaine Ott Chateau Romassan Rosé Bandol served at 10 degree C on a hot and sunny day Comment from : Thomas Jensen |
We tasted quiet some higher end rosé, including the Tondonia Considering price and availabilty, Domina del Águila would be the best, but the most impressive one we tasted was the one made by Château Le Puy In the end of the day it does come down to personal taste, the mood and the bottle ;) Comment from : Pierre Hecker |
Tough job retasting on the terrace! Our sangiovese rose is a big hit Perfect with grilled salmon, all the fat and smokieness Comment from : Clyde Blair |
Fascinating and educational Thanks Comment from : Mike Willis |
I used to despiiise White Zinfandel We call it some very unflattering names here haha BUT I know it sounds heretical, but pop some ice cubes in that Beringer, or some cold selzer, and it totally changes Think of it as a great base for wine cocktails and punches Comment from : Ross Arlen Tieken |
I love Bailly-Lapierre Cremant de Bourgogne Rose, from the area around Irancy in Burgundy Comment from : Joe Santa Maria |
Try South Africa and the Loire brExcellent examples from Bordeaux + especially the Rhône Comment from : Kent Piano |

White zinfandel rose Comment from : Leah Anderson |

Best rosé for me so far has to be Ruinart but Kaena's offering out of Los Olivos is the fave to keep on hand Comment from : Travis Tibbitts |
Tavel has been mentioned in the comments numerous times for a reason However I understand they are not favoured by ct rating-wise as they tend to be quite serious wines that don't match the common expectation of "light and easy"brbrThat said, I used to adore the Tavel Reine des Bois by Domaine de la Mordorée (as I did the Lirac white and red and of course the Châteauneuf of the RdB line) However I discontinued buying them as they regularly come with 145 of alcohol, or even more in some years That's just too much for me in most any wine other than fortified ones such as Port (I know, I may have to adjust my red line due to climate change) Lovers of those wines note that while they age quite well, my last bottles were gone at the age of about 8 years Comment from : zaphod333 |
I'm surprised you didn't review Garrus from Chateaux d'Esclans Would love to hear your opinion on that one! Comment from : Ben Z |
I only recently discovered your channel but I'm becoming quite a fan! Not sure if you live in America or have easy access to wines predominantly sold in America, but I used to work at a big box American wine retailer called Total Wine & More What many consumers don't know is that one of the big goals of this store is to push products from wineries with which the company has direct partnerships with - they're referred to as Winery Direct wines and can be identified by the yellow tags that are displayed on the shelves with them Many of these wines are honestly quite terrible, despite many salespeople there often telling customers otherwise That said, I think there are several real gems among them I would urge you to consider making a video on some of these wines if possible, as Total Wine is a massively popular retailer in America and it would likely be helpful for customers to determine if the wines the store's salespeople are trying to sell them are just weak products the store is trying to get off the shelves, or if they're actually worth checking out Comment from : Paxton Wright |

Hi Konstantin, which are some of your favorite Syrahs? Perhaps you could do a video comparing some of the best-known Syrahs from the Northern Rhone, California, Chile, Australia, and the Swartland? (PS - I'm biased towards South African wines so I would love you to include some more on your channel) 🙏 Comment from : Ian Dümmer |
I never got into rosé really Perhaps I tasted too many rosés with impressions of candy I prefer fresh white wine in the summer, but maybe I should try some rosé again Comment from : Stroopwafel 61 |

The Billecart is my favourite rosè sparkling wine I've tried other rosè that are definitely better wine all around (Egly Ouriet, Vouette Sorbee, Marguet and even Krug) but to me the Billecart rapresente the quintessencial idea of rosè An idea made by somebody who's into wine, mind it, so no 40 yo desperate housewife in Cabo San Lucas for vacation type of rosè Comment from : Danio Bevasdellio |

I love the tint at the start, but no, no it is not sunshine and warmth, it's cold, windy and raining here in NZ and rosé is the last thing I want to drink right now - but great video and some bottles to note for later in the year!brMy favourite is the Clearview Black Reef Blush Comment from : Andrew George |
Hey Konstantin! I’ve been wondering where/why there are commonly notes of strawberry and raspberry in Rose Is this compound found in the berry, skins or due to the wine’s processing? Thanks in advance, cheers from BC Canada! Comment from : Simon Dubrule |
I don't even drink alcohol, however I find your videos quite Entertaining Comment from : systemofaslipstatic |

Me and my friend Nick would like you to review Porta 6 Very popular in England at the moment Comment from : Thomas Bristow |

:) Comment from : Jonathan Ide |
Nice informative video as always Of those I've only tried the Muga and the Domaine Tempier (which I really liked)brbrPersonally I really like Tavel rosé and recently I've been exploring German Spätburgunder ones The Schlossgut Diel Rosé was really nice I thinkbrbrAlso Austrian rosé from Zweigelt I find very nice Jurtschitsch and Jamek make good very nice ones in my opinion Comment from : Fisklina |
I've watched your videos since a couple of weeks now and I understand that your main public are the US, thus the price indication in USD But I'd appreciate it if you'd also mention a European price range Great videos bytheway , I do enjoy them very much!brbrTo answer your question: Rosé for me is easy and affordable drinking, so mostly supermarket assortment I try to go for the Provence region, as you mentioned as the "origin" of rose wines To name a few: Valestrel Côtes de Provence Rosé, Pierrefeu du Var; Via Caritatis Ventoux VOX rosé; Isle Saint Pierre, Bouches du Rhone Comment from : Ernst van Loon |
Surprised to see no rose from LAnguedoc ROussillon So many great values and top quality one from there Especially the one from Roussillon You should try Miraflors by Domaine Lafage I find overal they have similar quality to provence one but with a lighter and/or more refreshing finishbrbrAlso on interesting one i tried was a Picpoul rose, really unique Comment from : Christopher Martinez |
What's the reason you called the Gewürztraminer a white wine and not "orange"? Thanks Comment from : halfprice2 |

Another excellent video! I rarely drink a rose, but I have a renewed interest in them now that you’ve done this tasting Thanks to COVID I’ve had parosmia for over a year now I used to adore a good Shiraz or Pinot Noir and especially red wines from South Africa Unfortunately, parosmia makes them taste terrible (and smell much the same) However, it hasn’t curbed my interest in good wines - one of these days I’ll be able to raise a glass while watching another of your videos Thank you for taking the time and effort to share! Comment from : Russell Wall |

Hi Konstantin, recently discovered your channel and find it the best wine reviewing and info channel around I was wondering if you could offer any of your thoughts on half bottles of good champagne? I don't know if it's video-worthy for doing a direct comparison experiment with a few, but would you say in your experience that something like Pol or Bollinger in a half bottle generally wont taste as good as from larger bottles? I've read a few wine critics saying that half bottles "age too quickly", and so the flavour of these champagnes will never be quite as good as from bigger bottles Is this nonsense or have you ever found this to be true?brbrThanks for any advice! Comment from : A D |
I enjoy Jacqueline Leone Rose Very drinkable summer rose Comment from : James DellaNeve |

I like La Bargemone cuvée Marina; just had a bottle of Cibonne and it was ci bonne In rosé I don´t want too much challenge; I prefer a simple, happy wine to go with the season and friends Thanks for this review! My local wine shop usually carries about 40 different rosés in the summer Lots to choose from Comment from : Duncan Salmon |
While I certainly agree with the assessment that the Beringer Rosé would be uninteresting on its own, I have occasionally bought it to pair with a goat cheese salad with strawberries, pine nuts and a honey vinaigrette Paired with something that is also sweet brings out some interesting flavors Comment from : Tommi Lind |
I had the 2014 Domaine de Terrebrune Bandol Rose and it was almost like drinking a light body red at their cave temperature Elegant and interesting It might be more refreshing if slightly chilled or in a chilled glass Comment from : At Amo |

The one I really love is "La Fantasia" (Frizzante Rosé) from Castello di Amorosa winery in CA It's very interesting and the only way I could get it again is to visit the winery nowadays! I tend to enjoy red wine more than a rosé, but this is the only bottle of rosé I could easily enjoy an entire bottle If you'd have the opportunity to get one, please rate it! I would love to see your opinion of it! Comment from : xearan |
Rose is way down my pick list but I enjoy your content so still listen for the educational and informational value! Thank you Konstantin Comment from : Chris Wiseman |

The Gewurz caught my attention - Burgenland is mostly known to me for its red wines (as well as dessert wines of Welschriesling) so I was not aware that Gewürztraminer was grown there Comment from : Travis Wichtendahl |
Something that I have never seen but always been intensely curious about is the Vina Tondonia Rosado Gran Reserva (or actually any rose under the Vina Tondonia label) by R Lopez de Heredia The idea of an extended barrel maturation of a rose is positively fascinating Comment from : Travis Wichtendahl |
What! No Mateus ;) Comment from : Rob Dielemans |
The best Rose I have had is from my local wine region Domaine Roy Pinot Noir Rose I have had the Rouge Domaine Tempier, and recalled that as being a good wine, so I expected the Rose to stand in the same league Comment from : Ron Johnson |
Thanks a lot for another exciting tasting! I like very much the rose wines of Sacha Lichine, like Rock Angel and Whispering Angel Also, the style of Rose d'Anjou is very appealing to me because of its sweet-and-sour balance, quite like Vouvray And one of the most non typical and interesting rose that I tasted was Tavkveri in Georgia, which is quite dark and intense rose, because it is made from Saperavi grape, which is tenturierbrAmber wines, like the Gewurz in your tasting, is really a separate and distinct style for me Do you think that aromatic or semi aromatic varieties are better for amber wines than neutral ones? Comment from : Elijahu Mogilevsky |
My favorite is 2020 Realm La Fe It far exceeds typical still rosé in my opinion That said, I find orange wines far more interesting Give me a Gravner any day! Comment from : flitcroftLA |
