Thank you so much! I have a willing to settle number but my ideal number is $10k more than willing to settle I risked it and said my ideal number In the interview, they said it was high I became worried The next day, they decided to offer $2k less than my ideal number I’m satisfied with that So glad I gave my ideal number Not saying that this will work for everyone Maybe I underestimated my value and role in the company Comment from : Some Guy |
The problem with giving a number is that it’s probably much too high or much too lowbrAnyone watching this video clearly doesn’t know how to accurately estimate such a number Comment from : Joel Mulder |

NEED ADVICE The range posted on the job was 50-70k Phone screen was told the same range again and they asked my range and I said “75-78k, but i don’t want that number to deter them from continuing me as a candidate” I got an interview with the hiring manager she really loved me and kept saying im a perfect fit Did another 6 seperate interview with the team in 1 day and they all loved me They took me out to lunch after and the hiring manager restated that “you know the range is 50-70k” and i said yes and she said great i just wanted to make sure you knew I got a job offer the next day for 70k so top of their range I want to negotiate 75k but am scared they will recind Should I? The 75k is based on what other companies have offered and on my market research Comment from : Melissa Freed |

Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!! I used your tips during my interview today and it went great FINALLY feel like I'll get paid my worth Always thought negotiating salary would offend employer but it went so well Be calm, confident, polite, do your research, and give a number not a range were THE BEST tips! You are so wise Thank you for sharing these pearls of wisdom!!! Comment from : Cuong Le |
I disagree about not giving a salary range, I think it’s a good idea Just use your “low” number as your ideal and the high as something you know you won’t get it If you want 50k say your range is “between 52-85k” That way even if they think they’re low balling you by offering 50k you’re still happy because you wanted 50k anyways Comment from : Aaron M |

I had an initial interview the other day and gave a range I have a 2nd interview coming up and now I'm regretting that Any suggestions on how to recover? Also, when I'm asked how much I'm currently making I intend to respectfully withhold that information and instead invite dialogue on the pay range authorized for the role Is this a good idea? "not bringing up salary" thing I think has evolved over the last 5 years Too many employers are playing time-waster games where they won't give you a range until the very last moment And I think a lot of people are feeling taken advantage of going to three interviews, doing quizzes, (I was given literal homework assignments by my interviewer) and not having one of the most important bits of information availablebrbrI think respectfully asking about the pay range early on with the job description is perfectly acceptable After all the entire agreement of a job is to provide money for goods and services Why is it considered money-hungry to politely establish what your end of the bargain is? brbrOnly shady employers and arrogant ones will cast doubt on your ability to perform for simply asking about compensation We might be extremely interested in the company and their mission, but let's be clear, This isn't charity work And playing coy with salary and people's livelihood it's just not a great way to set up a trusting and transparent business relationship in my opinion Comment from : rugdg13 |

Is it legal to search for a new better paying job, while still employed? Comment from : Apo B |
What are you smoking? My value is not defined by the artificially repressed rates being offered in my area Prices have gone up three fold from twenty years ago, yet my salary has not tripled Asking for a raise does not have to be "timed toward the performance review time of the year" What fairy tale world do you reside in? My employer severely underpaid me when he hired me in due to the fact I was unemployed at the time That's called taking advantage of people I can ask him to make it right at any time Glad I never followed your tactics as you seem to be in collusion with the mafia in my area Comment from : tony stout |

Employers cheat us because we ALLOW them to What do you REALLY KNOW, NOT FEEL you’re worth? It’s videos like things that empower us because the more you know the less you fear Especially during the pandemic I am in the medical field it becomes more difficult to work in this field, for obvious factorsThis is an excellent video thank you very very much Comment from : LonjeMariesVision_07 |
What are your thoughts on someone doing several peoples jobs? I am the office manager but I also am the purchasing manager, sales representative, returns specialist, shipper, etc these used to be different people but they left and now I’m extremely over loaded and overworked and salaried, where they were hourly so they got OT and I do not So how do I search that job? Do I look up all those jobs and ask for a 1000 raise? Lol jk, but I mean really? Comment from : Ashley Mancia |
Hi Linda, I was made redundant and was desperate to find an alternative employment right away, I was successful but I honestly think that the salary expectation I wanted was lower than what's in the market currently, I've only been working with my current employer for a month I have been receiving positive feedback on my performance from my manager When would be the perfect timing to ask for an increase in pay, is it after my 6 months probationary period or 1 year? Thank you Comment from : Annies Song |
