If we measure GDP in dollars and don't consider inflation (devalued dollars) we are handed a very biased and inaccurate picture of the economy In other words, if inflation is running at 90 break even for the following quarter is 10225 of the previous quarter Anything less is a contraction of the economy Yes? Excellent video There are potentially a few mistakes though- in case A level students are using In the example of purchasing the coffee for £3, you can't count the wages of the barista as well The value of the labour is represented as a cost in the purchase price of the coffee Government spending as a contribution to GDP is not 41 in the UK That may be total Government spending, but a significant part of that is transfer payments In the UK, I am pretty sure households purchasing a new house is under consumption not Investment
