So the enemies wearing the Jason mask in pumpkin zone, I’m pretty sure that’s a reference to the Friday the 13th video game for NES as well as Friday the 13th the movie series, considering that both have a knife in the mask just like the game

I played this game when it was fresh new I remember that I was so obsessed on finding a secret exit in Mario zone just becase all the other zones had at least one Wasted a ton of AA batteries and realized much later when the internet era kicked in, there wasn't a damn secret after all Good ol' days!

I absolutely love it when people take something that's already great and add that extra touch I have very fond memories of this game and have played through it again recently but it's such a different feel to play it in colour after all these years So grateful to live in an age where someone or a group take the time to do modifications like this and nail every detail!
