I’m only 1 person in an apartment I literally can’t buy in bulk because it all goes bad (aside from freezer goods—but I don’t have a lot of room & no one to split it with)😭 brbrthe double & freeze is a NECESSITY girl yesss!!! Works great! brbrI agree chopping yourself is the best! If you can’t chop onions yourself, get a chopper!! (You can get inexpensive ones on Amazon!) brbrI don’t do meal plans because I hate eating the same food over and over again in one week, but my aunt swears by it!brbrThe coupons are great Tip from my aunt: Aldis is cheaper than Walmart when they have their sales!!

I stock up on meat when it goes on clearance and put it into my freezer Just picked up chicken breast for 49 a pound( 13 pounds) steak marked down( got 5 steaks), California blend veggies for $299 for a 5 pound bag (grabbed 2 bags), 4 pound bag of green beans for $249, and eggs for 077 a dozen

I learned that if working with garlic instead of buying the gross jars of ore hopped garlic, and you have a food processor, to peel and put the garlic in the food processor and pulse to chop, that way you can put it in a container and have fresh “chopped” garlic

another tip: Don't buy single use freezer bags or whatever that aluminum foil thingy is Buy tupperware Doesn't matter if plastic or glass with bamboo lid or made of organic fibre materials (Just check for heat tolerance and don't pop frozen food in the oven right away or the container will break) Will save you a lot in the long run because you only will have to replace what you break I have tupperware in my kitchen that my grandma bought before my mum even was born Also, it's so much more environnementally friendly (Seriously, tripple-cover the stuff with aluminium foil?? Do you have an idea how short that roll will last that way??)

Honestly, I do all of those things BUT - I need to work on freezing things I buy up discounted veggies and freeze them already cut up but I totally don't freeze breads or left overs I know that will take me to the next level on savings I just hate freezer burn! Tip to avoid tearing while chopping onion Make sure your knife is super sharp, and put a bowl of water beside the chopping board That should stop the tear coming down your cheeks Good luck!
