Ok I'm new to this but I've started buying bullion silver (100g) poured bars which I feel relatively safe in doing so but I don't get commemorative coins? surely no mint will put a decent amount of silver in a legal tender coin, as if the price went up and the spot value of the silver was greater than the face value of the coin this would cause havoc with exchange rates etc? So are they ever really worth investing in? As I say new to this and trying to get it straight in my head😊, any wisdom gratefully received

personally I think it's the fat cats getting fatter from other peoples money I don't trust banks and I also don't trust the royal family I have valid reason for doing so I just think it's disgusting how they can say "you can but this £5 coin but we won't take it back" It should be illegal as they are basically advertising it as a minted coin but they are also selling it to you but unwilling to buy it back ergo that's illegal If any of us were to do that to a normal law abiding person we would be investigated for fraud or money laundering

It is important to note that the mint is not giving people 14 days to return the coins They are only honoring their 14 day return policy returning the item within 14 days of when that coin was purchased It is not a buyback program If you have had those coins longer than 14 days you get Nill

The fact that they redeem these coins in the past makes it precedents If they redeemed it once they should redeem all of them What they are doing is letting word-of-mouth that someone was able to redeem a coin for its face value their letting that scam the public

They sound like an eBay scammer It seems as though the British government is incapable of honoring any of its future paper commitments SELL all of your bonds now while you can What are they going to do next say you can't sell your stocks your money at the bank is no longer yours? I guess anything is possible I think they'll stop answering their landline telephone soon in fear they might pick up the phone and get an angry creditor on the line when things get bad you can't trust the British government to make good on any future promises

The issue is legal tender is not what we might expect wwwroyalmintcom/aboutus/policies-and-guidelines/legal-tender-guidelines this is the guideline from the Royal Mint "Legal tender has a very narrow and technical meaning in the settlement of debts It means that a debtor cannot successfully be sued for non-payment if he pays into court in legal tender It does not mean that any ordinary transaction has to take place in legal tender or only within the amount denominated by the legislation" so it does not mean a legal tender coin can actually be exchanged for money

Banks should be required to accept the coins as legal tender for the nominal value Terrible manipulation someone should sue the Royal Canadian mint and the British mint for fraud and false advertising Is there nothing the world governments won't do to screw over their own citizens I believe it's time to denounce our citizenships to any country in the world and bankrupt them by returning our birth certificates and social security cards Don't know how it works in Europe or Canada, but here in the US we can take back our bond certificates anytime we like taking billions from the national collateral It's time to denounce ALL citizenships as we are not subjects we are sovereigns (kings and queens) and have a right to contract with whomever we choose and can not be forced to accept any contractual agreements Wake up people learning our rights and the law can actually set us free

ill try and pick my words, people like to collect , most things from matchbox to toy cars and to me collecting the royal mint coins was just that a collection of well designed and presented coins the £20 ones i did but they seem to be a small outlay but fair return ! so i prefer older numismatic coins crowns and sovereigns with some modern silver crowns because i like them , so to say you cant bank them is a bit naughty when they do push the fact there "legal tender" also i notice that the last "pound" is only available from the royal mint so how much is that going to cost if we want one, they sell a 50p for £10 the same price for mint coins of £2 denomination perhaps its to pay for the new shop opening in pontyclun,wales so long winded but i will not buy anymore silver from them at all

Ive bought every £xx for £xx so far but i am feeling i need to pick my moment to offload them, especially the £100, think the £50 will be very good for a couple of years after the mint sells out especially as its the fist one I had thought they were superb as there was nothing to lose and they have to potential to be very collecable to a much larger audience but the legal tender nonsence has irritated me and i have completely mixed feelings about it to the point i certainly wont buy another £100brbrLegal tender should mean it is exchangeable or can be deposited but there is some back tracking and excuses as to why this isnt the case, these coins should have the guarantee of the face value or royal mint should discontinue them I understand some companys would not want to accept them and i could not understand someone wanting to spend them but they should absolutely be exhangable for their face value without question, that is their one and only appeal

I did collect the RCM $20 for $20 for years I was finally able to sell them all at a coin show and get most of my money back, which I was VERY happy to get rid of them No banks here would take thembrbrbrAlso, 1/4oz of silver for $20 Does't sound like a great deal As with any other RCM coins, 1/2oz for $50, 1oz for $100 No more
