once again usps is in the same boat since they charge the same amount no matter what, they will still save fuel costs by shipping from central US rather than from alaska to florida

That's true also and it appears that the original carrier was FedEx that's what USMint stated & provided tracking info however, the delivering carrier was US Postal Service

Oh and also, I can guarantee you that the mint doesn't use a third party company to ship silver to indiana Im sure that they use their own vehicles to transport metals They probably have the silver stored at an undisclosed location and people are not allowed to even know the address of where the bullion is stored

No, I'm sorry, but you are wrong too The flat rate is irrelevant because the USPS and the US mint are both gov organizations The us mint doesn't freeload off the USPS because they are both in the same boat They do it the most economical way possible BESIDES, the us mint doesn't use USPS nearly as much as they use UPS UPS definitely charges by distance, not a "flat rate" because UPS is a pvt organization that is trying to make money That is not true for USPS continued
