What you said is exactly right I joined international English group on WA only few months not even a year people say I speak English well and confidently And I spent years at school learning English but couldn't be able to speak English even to had simple conversation No wonder, bcz we had never practiced to open our mouth and speak the language only excesively listened the teacher lecturing us about grammar😭 That's why now I consider to be an English teacher to do my best Comment from : Joe Nathan |

I agree with your ideas The more teachers speak, the more students get confused So, “simple and clear instructions” and “be consistent with your instructions” are very good ideas teachers should remember However, I don’t agree with one thing I don’t think it is necessary to have a native English speaker as a teacher Since you taught a very effective way to teach English, anyone can teach English using your methods I’ll keep them in mind when I teach Comment from : dango mashumaro |

WOW, MrEd Ames Chomskey How is the content or general syntax or for that matter the pedagogical grammar affected? It is not! Therefore, the content remains in tact Comment from : Danny Hoff |

|
I disagree with you I'm american and when I moved to another country I've had SO many non-native teachers in my private high end schools try to "teach" english and being a native speaker myself, i caught SO many many mistakes that non-native speakers would have missed And accent is also important Little kids learning from non natives learn the language with a wrong accent, so Native speaker teachers ALL the way Comment from : hahahano |
|
I kind of disagree There's plenty of non-native good ESL teachers that can actually teach English way better than a native speaker I think it depends of how good the teacher is no matter which is his first language I had a great English teacher in my TEFL course before, he wasn't native speaker but his proficiency was C2 He couldn't do it better Comment from : Helsic |
