I have been doing this using some of those rubber skate guards and wearing my skates to do it Was able to do crossovers (ugly ones) my second time on the ice in 20 years and with a bum knee

Thank you for this! I am teaching myself to 1) skate, and 2) play well enough to join a rec hockey league and these instructions are very clear and helpful when I'm off ice Also, this video only confirms that ballet dancers would make great hockey players and vice versa, the movements and exercises one needs to perfect and the muscle groups/balance you need to have on ice are pretty much identical to what professional ballet dancers do

Great video and video series! For the top level team sports of America and Canada, I could do Baseball, Gridiron (American and Canadian) Football, or Basketball, but not Ice Hockey since I could have a difficult time mastering skating on the ice! But I think this video has helped me out a lot so I might be able to! I'm thinking about doing finance as an occupation one day, but if I wereto do top level sports, I think I could be able to do Ice Hockey now!

Went to an ice skating rink for the first time in 5 years, and lemme tell ya the ice is scary at first but like 5 rounds around the rink later it's manageable

So do you have a 'progression' for folks when they do get on the ice-- it's easy to bounce around a lot of vids and get inspired and want to take on skills you may not know you aren't ready for, or maybe even what to start every day on the ice with? (backwards balance on one leg before mohawks, sort of thing) Thanks or all of this!

I've been having such a HUGE troubles with transitions, it was the only thing I really struggled performing and couldn't do a single one But your video finally helped me to understand the principles and correct movements I'm sure the next time I'll step on the ice will be a completely new experience now Thanks!

Coach, I’m an old man (lol) and when putting my legs in that Mohawk position it creates a tremendous pressure on the insides of my knees and it feels like my knees are going to twist and snap! Do I just need to keep practicing that position until my muscles stretch out and it feels like no pressure or is that just how it feels?!
