I enjoyed this video because I too am a scrapper for pop cans and as of late plastic bottles Steady for 4 years I have been scrapping cans 95 as a job and by the aid of the God almighty I paid off a $130000 debt in 3 1/2 years and presently working on paying off another debt to Toronto Housing and working on building my own business at the same time for same industry Thanks for the video fore it shines light on who we are as scrappers we really are not only are we who people who don't give up but we are fighters and we are the front line men and women of this society wherever we are

I don't understand the disrespect I like so many others have meaningless employment These people take a valuable finite resource sensely thrown away by others so that it can contribute to an increased supply of that finite resource Not only are they performing for the good of the environment but may actually collectively reduce the cost to business who manufacture using this resource Having a job that makes you both an environmentalist and decent capitalist is not a bad position to have at all; in fact it is a meaningful one Thank you to you all

I met someone through the internet does this He lives in New South Whales, Australia He does this once a week and per month he makes minimum US$ 400 a month His neighbours was surprised how much he is making even his co workers even he is making good money as a Nursing Manager Also from work, he gets a small back pack he fills in with cans and bottles from the recycling bins from his co workers I'll be started it today collecting as well from my house and my work

These guys are like the New york version of myself, I collect cans sometimes all day but in Ohio where we only make 47 cents a pound but I take in 500 lbs at a time so I make close to $250 each time, I do it for more than the money though, I do it so that they don't have to make new aluminum for new beer and soft drink cans which in turn is positive for the environment and for the exercise

I drink a lot of beer and had been throwing the bottles in the garbage I just recently started cashing them in to add to the dividend stocks I buy along with the spare change I have everyday I'm thinking about it as I'm putting 10 cents to work for me its not much but 10 - 20 years in the future I'll be glad I did this

It's possible just need a ton of cans plus space for them Cans/glass bottles and plastic inherently bring bad odors too so unless you have a house with a garage In NYC the hard problem is collecting these bottles because if you get 1,000 or more Where do you put them? I've seen people store them in apartments and that's just a no no for me Already NYC apartments are small and storing bottles next to my bed omg nah To each their own, can't knock somebody's other hustle good for them at least they got a meal ticket in it

I have a friend in nyc who give a dollar or a few bucks to canners whenever he can especially on cold winter days or hot humid summer days It’s not much but it helps reduce their work by half hour or an hour in the extreme weather in nyc I would encourage people who live in walking cities to do the same

Like collecting cans, too I do this while car traveling during my holidays to feed my car ;-) Left over money I donate to my local animal shelter Find a lot of cans on highway rest stops, there is low competition compared to cities In my area all plasic bottles and aluminium cans with a special deposid symbol can be refunded and there are refund machines in all grocery stores Refund can be from 2 cent to 25 cent Bless you, stay safe and greetings from Germany

I support recycling Metals, plastics, cardboard, glass But I'd honestly rather be on the other side of it Meaning I work at a recycling center for metals It's hard seeing ppl struggling selling metals to earn a few bucks But it's reality, and without scrappers I wouldn't have a job

I can attest to this I am a building porter and I do this at my job It's not alot of money,I call my buddy from blue star beverage in nyc he comes with his truck and I put the bags of redemables in his trunk and he cashes me out right there Once a month average $30000 and it's all free money
