I think I'm pretty qualified to speak on this topic I have dedicated the last 9 years of my life, from 26 to 35 to working In that time I've bought and paid off a car and a house And am now basically cruising I've had tons of people tell me it's bad to work so much cuz I miss out on opportunities or experiences or whatever While yes I didn't go camping or I didn't travel or BBQs with people, but the funny thing is I never had the desire to do those things in the first place So did I really miss out on doing things I never wanted to do? I don't think so And as far as money making me happy? No, money itself doesn't make me happy, it's what having money brings me Which is security, comfort and peace of mind I'm happy not having the headache of having to deal with a leaking roof, flat tire, unexpected medical bill, or any other expense Barring a catastrophic event, in which case money's not gonna matter anyway, I can deal with whatever comes my way I'm totally happy going to work, going to the gym, working on my house, choosing who I want to hang out with and when I want to hang out I can't say I'd do anything different if given the chance, it's worked out very well for me
