Trying to get out of debt myself one of my worst debt is a personal loan didn’t understand interest rate only to find out later I’m paying half the amount I borrowed in interest if I paid it out over the 48months So I’m trying to pay triple if not more the amount due every month My regular payment is 540 a month x that by 3-4 😢 So much interest banks are evil when they charge so much interest

i have NEVER had a credit card! i pay cash or use a debit card only the only time i borrowed money was to buy a house 30 years ago and i paid it off early my motherbrraised 6 children on minimum wage and she did have a store card i learned how to manage money from her, but i never trusted banks they used to send me offersbrin the mail and i tore them up and put them in the trash i have not owed anyone money in 22 years now i live off my pension and savings live within your means

The problem is credit card companies target teenagers/college kids that don’t have a sustainable form of income yet but are encouraged to use a credit card to “build their credit” This coupled with a general lack of financial education and awareness, means more people end up in trouble before they truly understand what they are signing up for brbrI don’t agree with using credit cards “for the perks” because those perks are paid for by the insane interest and fees stacked on the those with a revolving balance It’s a terrible business model I don’t think people should support at all

I don't know if we're born with or develop it but I'm so grateful for having common sense, because it's crazy to me how many people put themselves in such stressful and horrible situations than blame it on "nobody told me" or "i didn't know" i learned about credit and money management the same way i learned how to apply for a credit card "ASKING" and "READING" the banks, I'm currently 19 and got my credit cards at 18 the moment i started generating income, i used my credit card instead of my debit card and just payed it off that same week, and for a balance i just left 9-15 dollars just to show than pay it off, even at my lowest without having my parents near to help common sense kicked in and made me think that even if i don't have shit at least i don't owe nobody 🤷🏻‍♂️

I'm the deadest of dead beats I have never carried a balance since 2001 when I got my first card (outside of 0 interest store cards, I love those and always paid off by promotional deadline) These days I take advantage of cashback and points systems of my 2 cards for roughly 100-150 bucks in gift cards a year It's small but nice
