I went in 2019 It was just myself so I stayed at Surfside Inn and did the unlimited express pass for 2 days It was more cost effective for me to do that than to stay in a premiere just to get the free pass But I think that might change if you have more than 1 person to allocate costs to But Surfside was still a really nice hotelbrbrOh and I agree, the kid's meal is plenty of food! I'm gonna be honest, when booking in the spring, off-site hotels stood no chance against the deal we got with Universal directly (the Canadian resident package, had to call to book it) and not only did we save money by getting an on-site resort hotel with a ticket/hotel package, but it also comes with all the extra perks of staying on site and not having to worry about renting a car or ubering everywhere If you live in the USA already, maybe an off-site hotel is cheaper but for me flying from Canada, the off-site hotels were no less expensive and we would have been spending money on travelling around in addition (They mention some hotels have shuttles, but when I was looking I personally didn't run into any) I don't usually comment, but I just wanted to make sure others were aware that off-site is NOT always cheaper Maybe sometimes, but in my case it was not Please do your research before booking <3 Comment from : Luzia Doshi

I plan to go this weekend, and will be using several of these tips Just wish I hadn't missed you by a week!brbrNot really a money saving tip, but if you are staying at a resort hotel, you can get purchases sent from the store to your room for free, so you don't have to lug them around or get a locker for them Actually, I guess it can possibly save you money in that sense, lol! A GREAT money saving tip at Universal , not specifically Wizarding World but you can pop out , is to get a freestyle cup to share One price for drinks all day and you can fill your cup every 10 minutes so easy for a family to share one cup Comment from : Laura W

I think an important thing to mention about the annual pass is that you also get discounts on all merch and (non-alcoholic) food purchases So if you're weighing the choice between buying 5 days of tix or an annual pass, also consider the 10 to 15 discounts you'd be getting with all your purchases Annual passes also give you discounts on hotel stays but it can be tricky Universal holds a certain number of rooms from each hotel and lists them for "annual pass prices", which means that depending on when you book all of the AP discounted rooms may already be sold out These rooms are typically released up to 90 days ahead so you might not be able to look at hotel availability a year from now but if your trip is coming up in a few months you might want to check frequentlybrbrThe convenience of staying on property outweighs any potential savings from nearby hotels IMO Universal is constantly offering deals and packages on their on site hotels so there's bound to be a room at your desired price point The shuttles at the off-site hotels don't run as frequently as the on-site hotels and sometimes you need to set reservations with the shuttle or the shuttles only operate at certain times of the day so be wary of encountering that when you book with an off-site hotel that offers "free transportation to the park" brbrLastly on the topic of reusable bottles, don't be afraid to use those Coca Cola freestyle machines even if you don't have a souvenir cup Those machines will give you water and ice for free regardless of what vessel you're putting that water in (even tho the machine might give you an error message you can still just click "Water" and dispense water regularly) Don't rely just on sugary drinks or overpriced bottles of water to stay hydrated Plus you can always ask for free cups of water at any dining location Cannot stress enough how important it is to stay hydrated! If you’re active duty or retired military, or a federal civilian employee, you can also save money on your park to park ticket by purchasing your tickets at your nearest ITT travel office on base I purchase the three park to park tickets annually and they expire in December These are not express passes Those are separate at the gate upon arrival I visit at least twice a year due to living in Virginia Beach VA! $235 per person isn’t bad until Epic Universe opens!😊 Comment from : Jenina Slicer
