The Xtool series has a terrible live data playback function: I have a problem with my BMW suddenly bucking at speed and stalling at Idle It happens infrequently Probably every 1 to 2 hours of driving No codes are thrown Live data is what I need so I bought this scan tool I bought the D8 model I finally have the bucking event recorded after about 45 minutes of recording I stop the car and save the data for review I start the playback thinking I can go to the end and see the parameters, but you can’t scroll or go fast forward You have to sit and wait until the end This is crazy stupid if you just recorded almost an hour of data to catch an event that you waited for The cds (recording) file is proprietary when I try and open it to view, its encoded You can do the export data and the data will be saved as text file (CSV) that can be opened it Excel, but when you stop recording after about 30 minutes of collection It may not be able to write it to the internal storage because of its size I sit and wait a minute or two for it to respond It has no progress meter I suspected my fuel pump is the issue I recorded the fuel pump parameters, but I can’t add any engine data parameters like engine speed and peddle position in with the fuel pump because they are in a different live data category: engine vs fuel delivery This is just plain crazy All parameters should be able to be chosen from all groups for the maximum of 8 that can be displayed/saved These are major problems with the live playback and could be solved easily in an update to the software but who knows when that will happen

I purchased a autel 906bt I used it about 4 times in one year now the updates have run out the tool does not work anymore it won't read vins or scan the vehicle I will never buy from autel Again and the update prices are ridiculous

Thank you for the videobrI am currently working on figuring out an EVAP leak somewhere and just purchased a new EVAP Smoke machine from Autoline Pro called the Ventus But I have watched other videos that mention that you need to close the vent valve before testing So not sure if finding a ScanTool that can control the vent valve to open or close it is considered a "Special Feature/Function/Option" or if the ability to do that is a standard option found in anything of these tools? iCarsoft is not fantastic Since it does not automatically create a log file and you have to set item by item to a log file, that's pretty annoying Moreover, logs can be read only in Windows, which is in today's world obsolete

hi by far your videos are the most informative when choosing a scan tool so thank you for that can you help me a bit more though i am looking for a scan tool that will do all the normal everyday scans and resets but i also need it to be able to recode things like a semi auto gearbox actuator robot on a renault trafic i am getting anew recon unit and it will need codeing to the van i have been advised that autel are good i have emailed them but they have not got back to me i am not a mechanic by trade, i restore classic cars and damaged cars so sometimes i have to turn off lights on the dash but i dont want to be paying a fortune for a scan tool i was hoping to get the one i need for under £600 could you recomend some that will do the job i need it to do pleasebrthank you brjohn

A year ago I found iCarSoft MBII couldn't do the diesel re-generation on my car, today I found it has no live data on the air suspension, pretty bad for a $300+ scanner, not recommended

Hi, thanks for this review, very helpful, however, one thing that lots of reviewers, seem to miss is the information software, by this I mean vehicle specifics like known recalls or faults, service bulletins, etc Also things like wiring diagrams or test procedures and known good waveforms do any of these have such a database?
