During back to school sales office depot / staples will put things out for 01 you can only get 3 of that item and you must buy $5 worth of things in order to get the deal So every year we will take advantage of those deals, I will usually go at least 2 times a week to get the sale items (They have great sales on other items at the same time they just aren't a penny) I only have 2 kids that are still school aged so we usually have lots of left over supplies for at home, to replace things the kids have used up at school, and to donate I try to make sure I send a bag full of all the things the school wanted each child to bring for school supplies for kids who's family can't afford to buy all of the school supplies they need It has worked so well that even with me buying all the extra I save about 200 dollars a year on school supplies My kids school usually asks for about 50 dollars worth a child each year Comment from : Desire Love |

we stopped celebrating ""christmas"" last yr, it isnt biblical, it is actually a pagan holiday celebrate Jesus and his birthay everyday, when you volunteer, do it for his birth do the history check, the tree is in the bible, adorned with gold an silver, and it wasnt to celebrate Jesus' birth i know a lot of people wont like it, but he wasnt born dec 25th, unfortunately, it is a wordly celebration this is just MY takiing on what the world has made into his birth and from what i take from his word, - please no haters Comment from : mai pi |

I begin Christmas shopping for NEXT year right after Christmas THIS year - ie clearance sales Stack your off, Kohl's cash, Yes2You Rewards 'cash' etc for even more savings (I recently picked up $145 of merchandise at Kohl's for FREE) I was finished with my shopping (and my wrapping) by Last April! If I do see something that tickles my fancy (like a 'Service for 8' new silverware set at Sam's Club for my Mama) I think it was 60 off? I never have a huge bill in December and I look like a hero! Comment from : Dana Lynne |
|
At the start of school, I used to buy my child at least 4-5 sets of supplies, one for the start of school, one for part of a Christmas gift box, one to help fill an Easter basket and one for emergencies/lost or brokenthere never was no need to buy full price and any extras could carry on to the next school yr or be donated I always budgeted that into my Aug-Sept budget and kept sinking funds for school supplies and back to school and winter wear and often in the spring bought clearance snow suits and she got it for a Christmas gift unless her coat needed to be replaced before Christmas Comment from : MegaHistorygirl |
