I bought 50 maple leafs a year ago to start I just bought 14oz private cash deal on a Sunday Two reasons One being responsible with my cash and having some stashed and two being in the right place at the right time I got 4 eagles 3 maples leafs a 2oz td round and 4 td 1oz bars and one beaver 1oz bar for 400 Canadian so 2847/ ounce Canadian or 2102/ ounce USD I was happy to help them out No dickering! Like he says the inability to just spend the silver outright is an invaluble savings asset Funny when I first started stacking I was worried about what I would do in a crisis, how would I get rid of the stuff, but now I just thank God I will have some silver in a crisis Fiat currency is all well and good, but it goes through your fingers so fast I remember the first time I got an ounce of gold, the feeling of security it gave me When I finnally got it in my hands I thought, gee I guess I won't have to worry ever about being absolutley broke, if I had an emergency that Gold would always be a thousand dollars for me if I really needed it Such a sense of security and defensive savings Needless to say I still have that first gold peice and slowly it adds up Because you don't spend it rather you put it in a safe and forget it's there Over time it gets bigger and bigger, wheather you are just starting out, or are a long time stacker, gold and silver seems to be for me anyway, the only way I can save money! It is a great defense against hard times, and over time will make a poor man rich

I actually think 40 ounces is a good starting point too, now that i think about it I am way beyond that nowadays, but that can be reached in a young age with little extra doing Wish i started earlier (as with any investment - if you want to stay moderately wealthy, start young)

What annoys me is that silver rounds cost the same amount as government minted coins so there's no advantage to buying them here I've moved away from buying coins coz of the premiums and started pretty much only buying 10 ounce barsbrbrIs there a risk in buying generic 10 ounces bars that are just cast ingots made locally which don't have a brand recognition which are cheaper as opposed to buying brands such as Scottsdale and Germania which are of the better quality and have serial numbers, for when it comes to selling?

We just started stacking, our goal is to buy 10 rounds every 2 week paycheck, and if we have to skip a paycheck to buy 15 the following This is a great goal, our preferred minimum is what we need to live comfortably for 3 months (12,000 dollars worth, roughly 16 pounds) The timeline to reach this is a year if we miss a few weeks

huh, really good point you being up that I don't see many people pointing out: Having a savings in metal DOES give you a large incentive to NOT spend your savings, thus a savings in metal is much more likely to grow over time, provided you add to it regularly, even in small amounts

I started stacking one month ago with a goal of buying 5 to 10 ounces every week And from watching your video 40 ounces is a good amount to have for stacking and he made a couple very good points you’re not gonna lose because of inflation so I think it’s a wise investment, the more I learn In one month time I have accumulated 38 Ounces of silver coins, 4 ounces in silver bars, 35 ounce ingot, and 55 grams of gold! i have those buffalo rounds got them at 25$ a round and spent around 6500$ minus the shipping paid a 5 dollars over the value at the time plus i have 3 10 ounce bars and 9 5 ounce bars not to mention some junkie must have raided grandmas stash and brought in a bunch of junk silver dimes to the 711 i work at i was able to save a little over 15$ in silver dimes that i traded normal quarters in my car for those with a couple silver quarters i found and exchanged in the reg for comes out to a tad over 12 oz junk silver

40 oz would give you a little bit of an "oh crap" fund, or like you say, avoid inflation I have some stock that pays 15/mo dividend; it'll be tempting to use those divs to put into metal to diversify that out a little bit - assuming I can free that money up from necessary expenses
