I was told by Social Security that once you know you’re able to apply for DAC that you have no choice but to apply for DAC and that if you don’t apply for it you can get in trouble so ur not allowed be on ssi n not apply if u know u may get aprove

My daughter received the official diagnosis of a "blue book" disability when she was 6 years old and began receiving SSI benefits for the next few years, until my husband reached FRA (Yes we are late bloomers) She was moved to child benefits when he did that but her letters from SSA state she was deemed disabled in 2014 They also kept the payment schedule like it was when she was on SSI (at first of month) instead of basing the schedule on my husband's birthday (which should be on a Wednesday later in the months) She will be 18 in a few years and so I am trying to start early, to get all my ducks in a row, for her to receive DAC off of her father's work history I have credits too but not at FRA yet, plus my husband has a lot more work credits than me It looks like there were a lot of backlogs and delays during COVID calls and letters were not getting answered per other people's comments I will have to just drive to an office in person when that time comes with doctor and specialist reports in hand In the meantime I have had to appeal their decision to discontinue spousal benefits for me as her caretaker but I am supposed to hear back soon per a phone call I made and the documents I filled out

Thank you for your information My son has suffered from Schizophrenia since he was 17 I was unaware that he could get benefits from his parent He's 40 now This worries me that he may lose what benefits he is getting ssi

Hello , I have a question My daughter was approved last week for Dac She has been receiving SSI for years She applied for DAC due to her father retirement There is a eight months from Jan 2022 - September 2022 from applying Since she was already receiving SSI Benefits , will she get that back pay? Would they subtract what she already received from SSI those months from her new benefit amount? Thankyou I appreciate your time

My brother was diagnosed with Schizophrenia and has since been treated for Schizophrenic Disorder since 1976 Medical doctors/psychiatrists have long ago determined that he is 100 mentally disabled He is 73, in ill health and has been on SSI since 1980 I decided to apply for SSD under our late fathers Social Security earnings record Our request was denied because, at the time (2019), I had no concrete proof that he had schizophrenia before age 22 His first record of diagnosis and treatment was at the age of 24, when he finally suffered a psychotic break We are appealing the decision and are finally going before a hearing judge in Sacramento tomorrow I have gathered a lot of new evidence, letters from his Psychiatrists for the last 25 years, and other supporting collateral, albeit no smoking gun After watching your excellent video, I suddenly am concerned about your warning If my mentally disabled brother does not receive a favorable ruling on his appeal to receive SSD, should I be concerned about the judge taking away his SSI benefits? That would be be devastating I wish that I had seen your video earlier so that I could contact you What are your thoughts, sir? Are we OK?

So discouraging A lot of disabilities don’t show on the outside How can this be down to a judge deciding? They aren’t educated on disabilities Is this common? Do you speak from experience?
