The better coin comes down to which one is being bought at a higher price Both are official bullion and have similar weight in gold, so on paper they should be the same value Comment from : Spectre |

no such thing as a "BULLION" coin brbrIt is either bullion or a coin brbrThe defintion of bullion is "uncoined" silver or gold vauled primarily by weight and purity although there could be a nuismatic value possibly brbrGold/silver coins are vauled by weight and purity of the PM but also the fiat stamp as well as potentally nuismatic valuebrbrbul·lionbrbr/ˈbo͝olyən/ gold or silver in bulk before coining, or valued by weightbrbrHere is a fun fact emphasizing this If we had space mining and gold became abundant in supply where it was available as copper or aluminum, the fiat and nuismatic value would still provide value from the coin Bullion would have almost no value due to high supply So a coin would have value but a bar (bullion) would likely not brCan't have a bullion coin as it is a contradiction in termsbrbrFun fact number 2brAmerican gold eagles are not a big deal outside of the USA In India and Dubai, they prefer Credit or Pamp Suisse, and Maples because they are pure and jewelers don't need to fuss and with refining Regarding coins, sovereigns and Krugerrands and Maples are most regarded in India Comment from : Billy Bob Mirango |

I'm giving the nod to the older brush back Maple or pre 2014, but the American eagle is so classic with the marriage of copper silver and gold Older maples win Comment from : Goldeneye70 |

I know living in the States, the American Gold Eagle is a wiser purchase It costs a bit more than the Canadian Gold Maple Leaf, but you get a bit more on the return when sold It’s, as you said, the most liquid Gold coin in the world But, knowing all that, I still can’t help but love that Gold 9999 fine Maple Leaf a tad more It’s pure 24kt Gold, whereas the Eagle is 22kt The added Copper and Silver leave the Gold Eagle prone to spotting over time, which can eliminate any foreseen premium you might expect on resale I know the 24kt Gold is softer, and prone to scratch, or ding easier, but if purchased new, and stored in a protective coin capsule, that should all bit eliminate this problem The color tone of the Maple over the Eagle is so much shinier, and glossy I guess it all comes down to personal preference Foe me, it’s the Maple Leaf Comment from : Victor Frankenstein |

At the end of the day gold will be gold Interesting to keep in mind is the tax advantages of the American gold eagles as well as keep in mind that the philharmonic is also tax privileged in the US That all being said I like the maples A LOT! But philharmonics are the best deal and get most of the advantages of the eagles without the high premiums Comment from : Chrisinsocal |
