As far as I know a plane farts out more fuel in to atmosphere in just taking off and the first few minutes of flight than a feery during it's whole journey But obviously choose to believe /or not ,what the green religion tells us Comment from : niedobrulec |

Can you break this down per place that you travel to so we can see exactly what you do for people like me that has never done this, please…thank you 😊 Comment from : Kara Rodriguez |

Great tips Unfortunately those first two hacks won’t work for international travelers like me who slow-travel the world and are always gone You need to have your things with you and not just a few changes of clothes in a carry-on You wouldn’t want to live that way for a year or longer Second, I find flights that are the cheapest going from country to country and rarely find any of the same two or three airlines, so how do I get travel miles when I end up using 4 or 5 different airlines? It’s never the same or even close to being predictable Comment from : Wesley Stevens |

God the whole world is about saving money,, frugal living, low budget, cheap quality, value items, simple and minimalist life style Surely there's more to life than living like that your whole life Is there no one that craves luxury, the high life and glitz n glamour? Why are all these digital nomads on low budget lifestyles and claiming they are making 6 figures at the same time? It doesn't make sense 🤔 Comment from : Shiva Shakti |

Hi Kristin, brbrWow! I'm so impressed by all that you've learned from living abroad -- and grateful for all that you've shared I'm retired and am thinking of traveling or relocating overseas, but I feel overwhelmed by all that you've shared and am not sure just how to start (I'll have to look at all your videos again) I heard you say that you often feel like an outsider wherever you go and however long you stay there So, I'd have to keep connected by enjoying my favorite humor For instance, I love the late Jeanne Robertson, a humorous speaker Check out her video on why you should never send a man to the grocery store :-) Comment from : Roger Chapanis |
Hi Kristin, super helpful/detailed travel advice I plan to do a month-long road trip in the US via rental car (I need the flexibility) Should I go with one of the major rental companies, which do offer considerable discounts for 30 day rentals, or are there other cheaper car rental alternatives? Many thanks! Comment from : tomv |

Awesome tips here! - Personally, I'll be sure to try using a local bike! - Unfortunately, I learned the hard way when I lived in Thailand In hindsight I really should have gotten a bike - I only realised this after 2 years! 😂 - However, after moving to Beijing I started using a bike and it really changed the experience - I got to know the city so well! -- In the future, I'll be sure to use a bike or even buy one! - Also, fantastic tip about using those reward credit cards! Would be awesome if you could create a video about this! - Thanks so much for sharing! 👍👍 Comment from : Nomadic Danny |
Great tips When I traveled solo I used to budget more and stay in less expensive places than before I also did budget tours geared towards younger folks like the GAdventures tours for 18 to 39 Now that I am older and have a husband, we do stay in nicer places and leverage points and miles rewards a lot Thanks for the shout out to safety wings I am looking for a good travel insurance for our honeymoon trip next year Comment from : Martina Sandoval |

Thank you so so much Planning to retire in 3-4 yrs but already thinking about taking some solo trips to get my feet wet, hopefully next year when we have better control of this crazy pandemic Won't need to penny pinch like some of the younger folks but your tips will still be invaluable, practical and immensely helpful Saved the video Comment from : JFK 540 |

Great tips, but a word of warning about ride sharing apps Don't use them for anything important A friend staying in Lisbon saved a lot of money by booking a flight out of Porto (3 hours away) but ended up missing it when her ride share didn't show up Comment from : Thomas Needham |

Most excellent tip I learned a lot from you Kristin 👏👍🇺🇸 Comment from : Paul Anthony |
Solid list I would add do the research before the departure For instance the best way to travel in Tokyo and Japan is with JR Pass, which one can order for better price before entering Japan Regarding grocery shopping in Japan, supermarkets discount gourmet food after 5 pm Everything is freshly made the same day and needs to sell before closing Comment from : Margaret |
Don't touch the minibar - this is a classic money saving tip I've been afraid of the minibar since I was a childbrbrDrink less alcohol - in Thailand they drink their beer with ice This definitely stretches your beer budgetbrbrMuseums - many places have museum discount packages For one price you can visit many sitesbrbrPostcards? - Who sends postcards? One of the more heartbreaking sights is to see desperately poor children trying to sell postcards to modern travelers with smartphonesbrbrContact small hotel owners directly rather than booking through an internet site Comment from : Martin P |
Great info my wife and I are planning some full time travel in February 2023 Comment from : Matthew Avasakdi |
Thank you for the tips! I'm a big fan of using reusable water bottles as I can usually just fill them up with tap water (assuming it is safe to drink where I am staying) Anytime I have gone somewhere international I have always done the travel insurance which you can purchase with the flight, but I definitely want to look into Safetywing for the next trip One great tip you can do too to save money is to take advantage of the street food! Street food can be quite cheap and delicious at the same time! I remember going to Vienna three years ago, and I was able to get quite a bit of food for such a low price! Comment from : Scottman895 Travel |
Loved it,thanks as always Kristin Comment from : Travel Adventures with Eric B |
It's funny how people think because I travel abroad, I'm some kind of a high roller, in the lap of luxury Far from it Usually I plan far ahead, and have my accommodation prepaid In fact I'm planning my first visit ever to Japan, and I want to circumvent the globe You're pretty much preaching to the choir with me on a lot of your talking points Comment from : Hispandinavian |
Thanks Mike Comment from : Hobbies Hobo |
