Bruh, I'm American and never knew how terrible the rewards and cashback rates were across the pond Amex offered me 150k points for 6k spend for their Platinum card That's equivalent to a around $1500-$3300 bonus depending how you redeem the points

Every time that I try to get info about the credi-card world, I panic 🤣 But thanks for your useful information, Andy! Sometimes I have to admit that I lose you, as I have ZERO knowledge of this world, but you helped me a lot, so thanks! I have a problem though - which answer I can't find anywhere - when I try yo use one of those websites for the soft check and see what's the best credit card for me, I always get the same message: that is not possible to evaluate my situation And I don't understand why So at this point I don't know if I need to build up my credit score or if I can apply for any other card that you just mentioned

I think the Lloyds Cashback card is better than the barclaycard one as if you spend over £4k it boosts to 05 cashback and below £4k you get the same 025 cashback as the barclaycard

I’m always suprised nobody talks about the Nectar Credit Card which gives you essentially 1 cash back on all purchases via Nectar points and you get 125 if purchasing with the card + using the actual Nectar card at places like Sainsbury’s, eBay and Argos, which most people make a lot of big purchases frombrbrNectar is by FAR the most generous when it comes to bonus’ as well with constant promotions, free points and HUGE bonuses like 50X points on eBay purchases up to £250 etc so it’s a great point system to be a part of and be active with

moving back to the UK from the US and I'm absolutely shocked at how low these rewards are My US credit card had 5 cashback on most purchases which felt normal but these UK rewards feel so sucky in comparison!!

I have a question at the risk of sounding plane: Lets say I want to get a house, fresh off uni, and want to get a credit card to buy it(only had debit by now), how do I go about that? Do I need to build some kind of score, and do that by having some everyday purchases credit card to build the score until I get a better card? and after like a year I go with my score to some separate agency that will call my bank to allow me more or, did I understand that right?

The why would because people want to establish credit , you need a card to stay in a hotel, rent a car good for shoppingbrYou don't need a credit card for an 800 dollar beer , you don't a credit card for the grocery stores and fast food restaurantsbrbrwhat do you mean by best purchases , money ? Hi Andy I recently got Pre-Approved for an Aqua Credit Card, using an Eligibility checker My starting limit is £450 - However, the interest rate is 5999, with no option for a Cash Advance I already had a £50 starter card with Capital One, which I've had for about 4 months I also have 4 Buy Now Pay Later catalogue accounts, with a combined credit value of £1850 Please can you give me some advice, as I only want to keep this new Aqua credit card for about 6 months, and I'd also like to use my Aqua card to get a better credit limit with my Capital One card Thanks

Halifax clarity card for some reason this month showed on my credit file as a cash withdraw after using it abroad to withdraw Euros Equifax has advised against using it to get cash abroad as Halifax reporting it as a cash advance Been using the card abroad for years and 4 times while abroad this year but this is the first time it's showing as a warning on my file unusual

Hey Andy - great video as always brbrI have a question regarding upgrading AMEX cards that I haven’t been able to get an answer for: if I currently have an Amex Plat Cashback Card and wanted to cancel it and instead order the Gold Rewards card, would Amex open a new credit line on my credit statement? Or would the new card simply appear on my current line with Amex because they’re on the same membership account? And similarly when I apply back for the Platinum cashback card after the one year with the gold card (so I don’t have to pay the £140 fee) - I just wanna make sure switching these cards every year won’t negatively impact my credit history/score

Interesting you mentioned money transfers There aren't many new offers available as you say but some if not most of the major banks sometimes offer money transfer promotions For example my barclaycard are currently offering me 0 on money transfers for 18 months with a 31 fee and my Lloyds bank cashback card is offering me 18 months for 4
