What about with gift giving for the price tags… Once I was trying to remove the (sticky) tag on gifts for SVP+ and made it look much worse so second item I just kept tag but blacked out price… tacky or acceptable to do that way vs removing and having sticky residue? 😅 Comment from : Amanda Joe Maldonado |
I can not convince my husband that you should bring a gift when visiting, it drives me crazy His family although have the same culture have completely different rules of etiquette for them We are "city" and the are "country" There's always a question of "who's right" Comment from : Sheinina |
These are all great tips, thank you! I was wondering if there is ever a situation in which it is appropriate to decline a gift, and if so, how would one go about doing this politely? For instance, if one was gifted something very intimate, expensive or otherwise inappropriate from someone they didn't know well, and felt uncomfortable accepting it? Or if someone was allergic to the item they were gifted, and might experience physical discomfort or danger from accepting and handling said item? Comment from : Lucy Thompson |

I'm Brazilian and cant understand why you mention a brooch as a tabu there Its not comum gift but definitely not a tabu in Brazil I don't know how told you this but its not true Comment from : Mariana Gavillon B da Silva |
About money as a gift: My grama used to gave us an envelope with a brain new bill that have being release on the country to us have access to the new "paper" I remember when the bill of R$100 reais (Brazilian currency when it was 1 to 1 with dollar) was release and she gave us for Christmas a bill of R$100 to each I feel like its more than just gave money, its like gave the new coins collection to celebrate a specific moment like on Olympics or something like that So money can be a very good guift if have a special meaning for this specific kind of "money" Its a way to make so much more than just the "money" Comment from : Mariana Gavillon B da Silva |
I tremendously enjoy your very informative videos, however, would advise that when you are making your them, to wear clothing that is level with your knees, or a little below Your legs are very thin, and wearing a length above your knees accentuates the thinness of your legs and the distance between your legs You are very elegant and lovely Comment from : Sandra Jean Hann |
Thank you, dear Jamila 💌 Comment from : Mary |
"Include the receipt" How funny, here in my country, it's almost a taboo to let the person know how much the gift costs, they don't get angry, but they make fun and do jokes and laugh if someone let's a price tag on something, for example You wouldn't ever put the receipt You are allowed to say though, something along the lines of "I have the receipt if you need to change it", but you never show it, ever Comment from : Mirane |

Taj mahal wasn't really a gift Mumtaz died while delivering her 14th child at an early age and cause she was the dearest queen of Shah jahan he decided to make a magnificent burial place for her Both of them are buried in taj mahal but I still don't think it should be considered as a gift or even a symbol of love cause it's essentially a grave and shah jahan cut off the hands of all the workers who made the taj so that they won't ever make a monument as beautiful as the taj It was pretty selfish in my opinion and the Queen's death could've been easily avoided if they stopped having children Comment from : Shivangi |

So sorry to disagree with you, but the Taj Mahal was not a gift as you said It was built as a mausoleum (tomb) by Emperor Shah Jahan to hold the tomb of his wife Mamtaz Mahal Mamtaz died in 1631 and building of the Taj started in 1632 and completed in 1643 so it could hardly be a gift Incidently both Mamtaz and Shah Jehan are buried inside the Taj Comment from : Nivedita Sen |

When you talked about wrapping, it reminded me of my college days I had very little money and was invited to a little girl's birthday I bought her a set of coloring pencils from the supermarket but had nothing left to buy wrapping paper So I went home I took a sheet of white paper and painted it with a lot of colors At the party, I was a bit ashamed she had so many big, gifts wrapped in shiny, beautiful papers But when she got to mine, she just caressed the painted paper and let out a soft: " wooow!"brI had tears in my eyes, intention and care really do count when gift giving brAnyway, thank you for your very informative video Comment from : Ayele Tigiste |
