I'm a med student in a third world country right now Actually an IMG READING FOR STEP 1 and when I say that I'm teaching myself medicine, I kid u not and everything I use is from the states I'm literally paying for nothing from my institution, American International University west Africa in the Gambia we literally have less than 10 lecturers, most are not even MDs and the rest is up to us You are thinking in the right direction okay And the school I go to isn't even affordable to most Gambians and we are mostly from Nigeria, Cameroon etc The country doesn't even have a legit med council for accreditation and other purposes and so standard of health care sucks here It's so sad and frustrating when ur a med student It's like ur only option is to go abroad so that u put ur knowledge to good use cuz u can use mris and ekgs There's like 3 ekg machines in the government hospital There is so much potential in your idea, especially here in Gambia

You mentioned about changing the food that’s provided, I know you used that as an example, but I have this passion and belief that food when consumed in the right was and form can cure or prevent MANY health problems I know not all but In a lot of cases And I think that a plant based diet is the way forward for most people I have done so much research on this because I am passionate about it I am a student nurse and I see it all the time where patients are in hospital for a period of time and they gain weight when they are already over weight because of the food provided in hospitals, patients with diabetes blood sugars are all over the place because of the food in hospitals Little education or little relevant information is provided to patients that is actually effective!
