I actually have a copy of the Judd 1201 I picked it up at a souvenir stand in Kiev, Ukraine The guy pitched it to me as a silver dollar, but it wasn't until I got home that I took a closer look at it I then realized that it isn't a real coin Oh well, at least I didn't pay much for it Comment from : MegaSaintAugustine |

And now we have China making replicas of these coins and selling them on Wish for less than three dollars!!brI wish the US would reproduce some of these beautiful coins today at reasonable prices!brIt would be great if they would actually strike circulating examples as commemorative issues! Before I decided to collect a few examples, I thought the shield nickel wasn't very appealing either, I assume it's because I'm used to seeing human busts on coins and that one didn't have that I have gotten over it and try not to judge it so harshly now, it's unique On another note, back when coins originated, the US used fictional Lady Liberties (Goddesses) to represent our nation but in later years, in the 20th century, they decided to use our founding fathers and leaders (Presidents) on our currency instead, that's why the face of money has changed and the designs evolved to what they are today, that simple Comment from : misterTVman |

I've always wanted to own a $4 Stella Pattern coins such as the $4 Stella and the goloid Metric dollar were attempts by the US government to ease trade with Europe and gain membership into the Latin Monetary Union The Latin Monetary Union was composed of France, Belgium, Spain, Greece, Italy The $4 Stella is the same size as the 20 franc, the standard gold coin of the the Latin Monetary Union One of my favorite patterns is the original St Gaudens Double Eagle The original St Gaudens double eagle pattern had an Indian head design in the obverse, which is identical to the obverse of the $10 gold coin The reverse design has a soaring eagle with sun rays, which was retained on regular issue double eagles brbr imagespcgscom/CoinFacts/62238_37658069_2200jpg Comment from : MrMonkeySwag96 |
