Thank you for this I can take multiverses off the list of what to think about Now I understand that the multiverse theory is a brainchild of linear thinking This is also explains that "Hollywood loves it" as Michio Kaku puts it Multiverse theory seems to be the logical conclusion for people that are bad in dealing with the idea that there are relations between things, not a path to be chosen This explains to me why Sabine Hossenfelder and Roger Penrose basically just say one thing: 'Who cares or what is this good for?' The answer is given by Hossenfelder: It is good for entertainment, and entertainment can be inspiring brbrBut obviously not for Penrose and Hossenfelder herself, who both don't look like entertained But maybe it is just the kind of person they are But maybe because they are the kind of person they are they can see the things they can see ;-) Comment from : Florian Thalhofer |

I am not sure that we have the mental capacity to really understand the phenomena of existence, at least not on an intellectual level It is a problem that can only be realized on a spiritual level It cannot be spoken about as it seems it is beyond all theories We don't "live in " a universe Comment from : John Ryan |

If there really were binfinite/b universes we would have known a very very long time ago It literally would not ever have been a topic of debate The very fact that we haven't discovered a parallel universe proves that, even in the almost certainly unlikely event that even one exists at all, at the very least they are not infinitebrLike its literally so stupid to believe that it could be possible You can't prove it Its embarrassingly unscientific Comment from : Thumb Head |

Michio Kaku looks drunk during this discussion Embarrassing, really Comment from : Buster Cam |

There is this theory that says: to assume time exists, is the basic mistake And because of this we will be running around trying biting in our own tail Never reaching the final, all explaining theory we were looking for so desperately An everything including, explaining and connecting scientific ultimate theory can describe the point of the universe brOr of all universes if you likebrOne just have to start on the right track, otherwise you will be lost “ in translation” brLets return to the start of this comment:brTIME DOES NOT EXIST, BECAUSE EVERYTHING HAS BEEN THERE ALWAYSbrWe cannot comprehend in our limited 3D brain what this utterly means Because of this, one has to assume that everything will be happening again exactly and precisely the way it is now in the whole univers So ultimately in this eternal timeless universe the same situation , constellation, etc imagined as be frozen in our human imagination, will be happening over and over again just as uncountable hundreds of billions of other situations Not because of a one time coïncidence that makes this present situation happen, but because there is no time, no time limit, no border in the eternity we are part of already Not when we are dead, but now already!brAnd for the scientist hanging in to the present way of thinking in physics and numbers including time as one of the descriptive factors: this kind of science is part of a niche , a niche in the real unendless universe , where one can create its own set of values and theories and sciences The truth of this set can solely be found in the niche accepting the premisse ao time does exist brAnd to reassure these brave scientists: this all means your beautiful minds have always been there en will always be there And thats why the universe has no point brBtw, this theory is my own brainchild and I invite everybody to shape and mold it Just take your time by way of speach , if it doesnot work now, it will come around at another timeless occasion later on in the past … :) Comment from : I de Ploeg |

One does not need to have any training in physics to know Kaku is wrong All you need is the basic knowledge of epistemology, logical fallacies and rules on how logical and sound arguments work Kaku proposes an explanation, and in its defence he admits it is not provable now, but says it will be in the future - as many other theories were (fun fact: it was wrong to believe those theories until there were proven, because they were indistinguishable from falsehood) This is a shockingly glaring logical fallacy One has no basis to differentiate falsehood from truth UNTIL there is unambiguous evidence for it I am sorry for how low he fell intellectually And believing such a thing is a testament one abandoned the pursuit of the truth Comment from : impact0r |

At 37:00 Kaku says in regards to theological arguments compared to multiverse theory is that there's no supporting evidence This is only true if there is absolutely no veracity whatsoever of subjective experiences having no reality and that they are 100 pure fantasy, except in the case where some subjective experiences strongly suggest veracity as a consequence of a large body of correlation between reported subjective experiences For example, the experience people have of the colour blue is a subjective experience which matches other peoples experience of blue in the sense that whenever anyone is asked to point to something they see as blue they all (barring colour-blindness) point to the same colour This shows that there is correlation between reports of subjective experiences and truth Whenever people report experiencing feelings of fear when, for example they are presented with the threat of physical harm, ie a very sharp object is placed close enough to the body, especially the eye, to elicit fear, those feelings are known to be real in that fear actually exists in reality This is accepted as fact in part because it is what almost everyone reports they experience when sharp objects are placed in close proximity to the eye These reports have also been further verified by physiological and neurological evidence The veracity of theological arguments between reports from the laity, ie those persons that have not engaged in prolonged periods of intensive mental discipline with regards to their spiritual practice tend to be vague, with little substantiation other than belief based on scripture Advanced spiritual practice with theological elements such as prayer and penance that do employ prolonged periods of intensive mental discipline, especially those that destroy or inhibit negative, unwholesome mental, psychological or emotional states and nurture and cultivate positive, wholesome mental, psychological or emotional states as well as attending to acts and motivations of selflessness, often lead to perceptions of one-ness, not only to other people, but also to nature, the cosmos, the universe, ultimate reality and to something ineffable The greater the level of discipline, the greater the conviction that there exists a spiritual realm, but also, as this conviction increases alongside one's commitment to prayer and penance, the greater one's commitment to humility and one's abandonment of arrogance, conceit and egobrThe fact that the subjective experiences reported by spiritual practitioners holding totally different religious convictions and even of those that have no theological basis, such as Jains and Buddhists, report almost identical experiences at the level of advanced practitioner, is very strong evidence that there indeed exists something that is ineffable but also accessible to human experience The language used to describe these experiences may vary widely, but this is a consequence of cultural differences; the correlations are undeniablebrThus Kaku's observation might have some standing in regards to laity, especially the us laity, since the us is the most materialistic nation on the planet and has the youngest (and by definition, immature (and consequently, most shallow (and myopic, bar islam))) spiritual tradition on the planet, barring the indigenous traditions Comment from : mr7 4nders0n |

Being an external measuring device myself in the quantum universe of this video, I didnt managed to measure anything bEDIT:/b I have to say something tho and It's not that I intent to support Kaku, rather to oppose Hossenfelder and Im not an expert or something on this field (quite the opposite): Democritus' atomic hypothesis was left aside for thousands of years and everyone accepted Aristotle's four elements theory (he supported and added to this theory), for thousands of years Plato and Aristotle attacked Democritus' atomic theory which much later was proven correct So this 39:45 is not a substantial argument Comment from : paper toys |

The theory is fundamentally absurd when we can't even comprehend the size of this universe It should be called the Theory of Desperation Comment from : TheStarflight41 |

Our universe could very well be the path of least resistance a lightning strike takes Many possibilities, but only one path is taken 🤷🏻♂️ Comment from : YOUNG BOSS TONY B |

Shutter Mass Theory ®️ basically the speed of something causes wake in reality depending on the force used to transition from frame to frame Quantum particles aren’t in superposition, but are rather bouncing between positions before settling on one side - or the other We can’t currently measure that shutter speed, and I argue that all things teleport from frame to frame at various speeds, that cause different wakes within the fabric of reality Like a coin drop in which you can see both sides of a coin both in air, and touching the table, until at rest Comment from : YOUNG BOSS TONY B |

Penrose is just so polite Sabine is not as polite but maybe thats thier main "weakness"brA weakness that has allowed the "string theory" to hijack physics or mathematics Comment from : mcnerd IMAM |
|
String theorists certainly seem to fill our screens morebrThey are the most comfortable in front of a camera and seem to be able to sum up thier views in ways the majority of viewers can grasp in less than 3 minsbrUnfortunately, average attention spans seem to contract faster than the LHC can propel protonsbrAnd that is a very sad thought Comment from : mcnerd IMAM |

Yes, abandon it , it's marvel comics Book sudo science rubbish Comment from : Thankyou for your EMAIL |
|
As much as I have enjoyed Michio's books, when compared to the down-to-earth style of Penrose's pondering or the straightforward answers Sabine, it sounds more like ha is trying to sell a car and not a comprehensive theory of the entirety of the universe Example, "It took over two thousand years to prove the atomic theory correct" Not really Aristotle quashed atomic theory in less than a half century It was not even wrong for two thousand years It began to appear to be the best explanation of experimental results in the late 18th century and was generally accepted as true long before JJ Thompson began looking for parts of the atom in the early twentieth century Keiko glosses over twenty-five hundred years of history by suggesting that atomic theory required the whole time between Democritus and Thompson to prove it correct Comment from : jef bryant |

I can't stand the way Michio talks down to literally everyone With that aren't I a genius tone of voice Comment from : ¡Kevin Savo! |

That's the problem with these English are considered pompous He stated @0:45 "This theory can't ever be proven" That statement proves that this he has never been in a lab If he had a humble bone in his body, he would have said this: "If the multiverse can be proven, we don't know how to do that at this time" Comment from : Red Shirt |

Bravo ! I'd Love to see their opinions entangle when they see actual psychic surgery and the phenomena of the body opening to release illness and closing again w/o a scare and the holistic nature of a person's noble actions leading to this convergence w/ God - Comic book or Real real to me as I have empirical evidence, false to another as their destiny is divergent from this experience Comment from : James Williams |

String theory is well funded study and made popular for wrong reason It is proposed and sustained to delay scientist for reason that is very hard to swallowbrBut the real scientist that you never heard of or ever will that are working on real project String theory is a tactic to delay open science and scientists so some other entity can gain grounds in underground science ask your question why multiverse in string theory is gaining ground over anti matter or anti gravity?brbrString theory is more of wokeness than science Comment from : Markusko Armani |
|
MichioK created religion of string theory You must believe it and wait for miracles to prove it Comment from : Markusko Armani |

Michio Kaku is really a populist theoretician His opening is about possibilities, which is undebatable Of course no one can prove that any single idea/theory is Impossible brAnd it isn't helpful in scientific discourse to argue about taking a narrow view and "not open" as it were, to diverse or fantastical ideas Comment from : William C |
