The best plan is the best plan, the “for seniors” part is unnecessary We’ve been with Verizon since we got our first cell phone but that was mostly in the LA area Since we’ve retired and moved to a more rural area Verizon is lacking, as in often weak signal and many dropped calls Weird Comment from : Jake Lonergan |

I am a 69 yr old senior that has been using the Verizon prepaid plan I have the payments on auto pay This month, for the first time I get an email telling me I had not payed (NOT TRUE) my bill so they disconnected my service If I wanted to continue with their service I would have to pay my bill of $35 No worriesI pulled out my credit card & payed the bill I go to my account & guess what!? Verizon, without my permission had put me on a $60 plan! I finally reached their (VERIZON) customer service & spoke to them about my plan They informed me that the $35 plan was NO LONGER available for their customers! I would have to stay with their $60 plan & out of respect for the seniors (like me) they would give me a $10 discount every month I am now calling my bank & looking for a NEW carrier 😠😠😠 Comment from : pat gustafson |

I have been with Verizon for a long time many years in fact and I am a senior and now I pay $64 per month for unlimited everything To think that seniors are talked down to is ludicrous because I held the first cell phone in my hand! I think I know more about cell phones and people in their 20s and 30s! In fact I was 17 years old and working on a job with the first computers had a huge diamond ring company back East I own the first home computer I am the first laptop Need I say more? A follow-up to my comment from a couple weeks ago: we got my mom a jitterbug She absolutely loves it She couldn’t stand using an iPhone or an iPad or an iPod or a tablet That sort of technology doesn’t appeal to her, nor does it really make sense to her The jitterbug got her so excited It is incredible Her reaction was phenomenal Usually, technology and she don’t get along, but she was smiling and exciting in giddy with joy at the possibilities of that simple phonebrbrWe made the right choice Comment from : ZeboStoneleigh |

Consumer Cellular insults seniors in their ads in too many ways to list They continue to violate the privacy of your home with postal solicitations even after they've been asked to stop They have no respect for people, only for their money They are criminals who don't think they are criminals Comment from : Chuck Hole |
Add me to the (long) list of commenters in the "senior" category, who at 63 is an avid tech user, and for much more than Facebook, grandkids (no kids, no grandkids), and cute kitty pics My first job involving computers was in 1975 -- pre-internet, when the monitors looked like big old TV sets, took up half the desk, and couldn't do anything but look up and display text files In the mid-'90s (hello, baby GIU-internet), I resumed my college education and by Y2K was a freshly-minted librarian I used computers for research, record-keeping, and communication on a daily basis I taught computer skills and information literacy Most of my computer skills are self-taught, and I'd put my skills at advanced intermediate level I make a point of reading about and exploring new tech whenever possible (After all, challenging the brain to learn and grow is an important factor in staying sharp as we age!) That said, thanks for your well done videos Interesting, informative, and appreciated Comment from : kathen58 |

Consumer cell gives too little data and charge for international whatsup msgs Unlimited text, calls, and 500 MB cost $25 plus taxes I am looking for a better plan Maybe Mint pre paid Comment from : Maria Gil |
what phone do you recommend for a 94 year old senior who has not experienced any technology? most out there have too many steps to completed a simple phone call Comment from : Rich Attanaseo |
Just watched (2yrs late) - believe it or not, there are some of us out there that don't need 'smart' and thus want plans with zero data, and believe it or not a very limited number of minutes a month I've found several prepaid plans where you pay $10 for 3 months and calls are maybe 6 cents a minute (166 minutes over 3 months) No data Perfect for someone who doesn't want to use a cellphone to stay connected to friends and family, but only makes or receives the occasional brief call Comment from : quantumjim45 |

What the story on Jitter Bug or Lively Smart Cell Phone plans? Comment from : Luigi |
According to your map there are a few companies that service my area But I still get dropped calls in certain areas in my home Can you explain why this happens?brI went on a site that shows towers and if you click on the tower is shows the area that blankets you, only one tower blanketed me, and its not the carrier that I have and they did tell me their towers cover my area What is with this? Comment from : aet9rat6 |
I love you guys' channel and ll the excellent, helpful information you share I wish your coverage maps on UpPhone were better It looks like they're just the coverage maps the companies supply I suppose anything more detailed--relying on public input--would be a bit unrealistic My business local is a dead zone, especially for data, but the map just blanket covers it with coverage colors Before I switched to ATT, I had TMobile, and my house was a problem zone (wouldn't call it "dead") I talked to TMobile multiple times and they said the map said I should have coverage Oh The map said Anyway Would love a video explaining how "data" plans work and what affects the ability to connect Is it the phone? The Plan? The amount of Gs? Why can't there be the equivilant to an old fashioned antenna for these things? Comment from : groomdoggi |

💌 Those commercials totally irritate me There’s one of a 50 something woman learning for the first time she can take a picture of her dog 🐶 Really? brAnd … those big carriers ripping off “seniors” should be on that ”shame on you” news show brAlso … MANY of our seniors where first in line to buy the very first iPhone 📱 so if they’re telling u they are clueless they probably just don’t want to keep in touch 🙃brbr🙏 thanks for another great vid ❤️ Comment from : Coach Constance |

Some cell phone plans aren’t active in your area Check this I use Tracfone one year plan, unlimited talk and text and 12 gigs data per year, which unused portions roll over, and have used Straight Talk, mostly because the coverage was excellent Comment from : Aunt Mayme |
I agree re: Jitterbug charges way too much for seniors! But I must admit as an adult child of a senior she does struggle with some of the things the smartphone has to offer I wish for those who need it there was a phone with 5 main apps that she could have set up very basicbut I guess you could set this up on a basic smartphone!! Great Job! Comment from : Leroy Hill |

mentioned this yesterday, but xfinity if you have their internet offer a share plan that is very affordable, I talked about the gig plan yesterday but you can get unlimited for I believe $45 but you can share that so the plan ends up being less than $30 per phone A problem if you move where they dont have xfinity Comment from : roodog |
These companies are making these phones more addicting and for that reason I only want the phone for emergencies I have a landline phone and I'm very happy with it Comment from : Carrie Bishop |

Obviously you guys have never met my parents They just can't do it My mother had a computer before I got my first one in 1993 She still can't cut copy and paste; doesn't understand a virtual file system My father has a smart phone and you should see him swiping at it when it's ringing or issuing some notification sound Shameful I agree the Great Call folks are a scam but they're not wrong about some parents; mine ARE pretty much dottering fools around technology Comment from : StickerMigTigger |
I'm 65 and medically retired from the Transportation Industry I have a background in electronics repair and computer programming so I guess I am not your basic stereotype senior citizen I switched from Simple Mobile to Boost Mobile and the thing I really didn't like was the signal strength At Simple Mobile I had unlimited talk, data, messages At Boost I had the same for the same price but the signal was crappy and calls would drop I had 5 signal bars at the store and 25 miles away at my house, which sits on a hill, I had 1 or 2 bars I got tired of it and went back to MetroPCS(now Metro By T-Mobile) Now I have 4-5 signal bars at home After finding a couple of good apps that show where cellphone towers are I realized why I was getting crappy signal at Boost Mobile Their towers are placed closer to the interstates whereas Simple Mobile, Net 10, Metro By T-Mobile who use T-Mobile towers are in more places and are better placed Comment from : DoNot Need |
Just found you today Thanks so much for all the iPhone helpful tips and plans As a senior with fixed income I also needed a plan that fits my limited budget Thanks to both of you for caring about us God bless you both Comment from : Florie Samilin |
Seniors are the biggest users because we have grand-children all over the country! I don't have a cell phone yet, never really needed one before But with my kids living so far away and the cost of my landline keeps going up for no logical reason, I need to cut the line! As you can tell, I'm online, in fact I was online before these two guys were born! Back in the olden days ( 1980) we used bulletin boards, and 900 baud modems, and thought it was the best thing since sliced bread! I also build computers as a hobby, so there's that as well Comment from : Bullettube |

You don't have Canada Comment from : Elaine L Cohen |

You guys are fantastic, thank you for looking out for our seniors! ❤️❤️❤️ Comment from : Carla V |
T-mobile is notorious for talking down to Seniors! Comment from : Carla V |
While I know there are plenty of seniors that are very savvy, there are just as many that are very much not My father gets very upset when they keep trying to push smart phones on him He only wants talk No text No voice mail Nothing He has used tracfone flip phones for years but he gets REALLY upset when the old phone wears out and the new one is completely different I mean VERY upset I don't know how many seniors you guys actually know, but there are plenty the DO want no features, no bells and whistles phones and service You are making just as big a generalization assuming all seniors want/need the latest and greatest I know plenty that would gladly give up the data they never use for a little discount of the monthly charge Comment from : deadmeat1240 |
I'm at a loss when i hear 'lines' Up to 5 lines etc What exactly are we talking about? Comment from : J Morrison |
This should have been a best talk/text and data plans at verious levels given the senior discounts Comment from : Ken M |
Love the condescension: All these plans talk down to seniors, while making massively broad generalizations about seniors right after Comment from : Ken M |
I'm old and long-retired But I have 2 doctorates, used to operate very complex computer systems with UI's that weren't yet watered down and still repair PC's for friends The problems many seniors have when interfacing with tech are often the result of visual or other physical impairments Fortunately, many of these problems can addressed What bothers me most is that seniors are so often cheated, grossly over-paying for the phone services they buy when not understanding what their needs really are There are very good YT videos that many would find helpful in this regard The video herein presented is, in my opinion, not one of them Comment from : wholeNwon |
some seniors still use internet what do you suggest Comment from : RJ cruz |
wasted video Comment from : John Saulle |

I am a senile citizen who uses Straight Talk through Tracfone For $4500 + tax I get unlimited talk and text along with 25 gb of data on my iPhone I use about 22gb every month The choices in Straight Talk carriers are Verizion, AT&T, and T-Mobile Second Tracfone itself is inexpensive and very useable with rollover minutes Comment from : Kay Jay |
