I will look into this thank you Where people are fearful , you need to be greedy People disrespect 40 for no reason but this proves it might be the better deal for the actual amount of silver you get Comment from : MC CORRECT |

Since this is about silver coin content I want to tell everyone something I bet you don’t know! 😃 brbrDid you know the 1920-D quarter has more silver than any other date?brbrYup! The fineness is over what it’s supposed to be just slightly!brbrThey were supposed to be 900 fine but actually assayed at 906 fine It’s only a little over half a percentage point but technically it means they do have a slightly higher silver content Just don’t expect a dealer to pay you extra for it 😂 brbrThe US Assay Commission even noted it when they wrote:brbr“It is evident some of the coins of this delivery are without the legal tolerance" brbrExcerpt from the 1921 Assay Commission report detailing the problems with the 1920-D quarters, some of which were struck in silver that was too finebrbr Investigation found that ingots which had been rejected and were intended for melting had instead been used for coin Comment from : Blake |

Picked up a $50000 box of halves from my bank last Saturday Ended up finding 10 40 halves Not a bad deal at all I'll continue to do that, and take all the 40 halves I can get On the 90 stuff, the quarters seem to be my best deal at my LCS I can get $100 FV for $2600 I had been buying 90 halves from them (and still will, just because I like them), but I've been paying $3000 for $100 FV on those So, I can get the same amount of silver for $400 less (per $100 FV) if I buy the quarters Man, this is a fun hobby! Wish I'd gotten into it sooner! Thanks again for another great video! Comment from : Wally Palmer |

Once people get hip to the COPPER in the 40ers, they will be cherished like 90ers JUST WATCH! Do the math and you will see In every half dollar (even the non-Silver ones) there is a lot of Copper But with the 40ers, there is 60 Copper, so 10 grams in every half and 135 grams in an Ike 40er That adds up really quickly when Copper is impossible to find for less than $150-200 per ounce and it has broken through all time highs It is going north more, so grab the Copper in these coins FREE since no one ever charges for it Once they are gone, they will never come back Besides that, the melt temperature on Copper vs Silver makes it possible to later separate 40ers are the best kept secret in the precious metals marketuntil now! xD Silver (and Copper) to the Moon Soon!!! |
Good points When I was a kid after they eliminated silver from all circulating coins (1971), I struck on the idea of going to the bank and asking the tellers for the oldest half dollars they had in their cash draws Since I usually had no more than $1 or $2 to spare from my stupid kid jobs like working as a paper-boy, I could only get 2 or 4 at a time Over a period of two years or so, I acquired a good 4 rolls of 40 halves from '65's to '69-D's, and also a few Franklins and '64's Comment from : Joseph Campagnolo |

Good Morning Daniel!!🍵 What amuses me is how the Mint gingerly "stuck it's toe" in the clad waters during that era!!😀 Comment from : George Matthews |
|
The term "Melt value " is very misleading when talking about 40 coins Have you ever tried to melt a 40 coin? Impossible to separate the silver from the alloys In my opinion, the 40 coin are illegal tender and American Numismatic Collectibles only; not a meltdown item Comment from : William findspennies |
