There is plenty of calibers out there but in reality there are just a few which are truly relevant Now that almost everyone can afford cheap small series custom bridge on top of vj7750 base place there are plenty of so called "in house" calibers When they where a rarity they seemed to be desirable for supposedly exclusive quality When time passes by (5 - 7 years) people will start to discover how unserviceable they really are Comment from : rosomak |
What about Miyota 82S0 anybody ?? Comment from : Cyber |

Great work Teddy, thanks I've not long purchased a LIW watch with the 9015 Miyota, and I'm very happy with the accuracy They are thin engines too which, as you said, allows a thinner case, plus 4hz Again the Japanese giving the Swiss some headaches Comment from : Wendy and Geoff Pattison |

own Invicta driver pro $50 with NH35A homage to Rolex submariner watched on YouTube a watchmaker disassemble both Rolex and Invicta and reassemble putting Invicta through all the paces of the Rolex it was very impressive for $50, by the way that's the price he also paid for the Invicta sometimes things can be done right at a good price Comment from : JERRY GERMANO |

A monster piece, beautifully delivered Teddy transcends the YouTuber function to become a true educator Comment from : tukomusic |

My main daily wear watch is a Doxa Sub 300T (ETA 2824-2 movement) When I first got it, I was fairly pleased that it was giving me about +8 seconds per day at the absolute worst I stopped bothering to keep track of the accuracy after a while, and just re-set it about once a week or so Last week I'd not been wearing it for a couple of days, and wound it up, re-set it, and started wearing it again, 2 days later I checked my time, and I was only 4 seconds out, after 2 days Checked it again todaySame again Absolutely amazed! I've not had any additional regulation done to it, but I seem to be getting a +2 second a day error, which I'm really pleased with! Comment from : 24934637 |
What about Hangzhou 5000 Micro Rotor? Comment from : The refinish Specialist |
Lemania have supplied many of the top brands, for many years including Rolex, for their Daytona Although owned by Breguet, they still offer watch movements to the trade Their high reputation suggests they should have been included in your overview, Teddy Comment from : Puccini 45 |
Dear Ted,brbrI know you said this one was hard to put together, but I think many of us think very highly of all the work you have done here to synthesize a very complex, obscure body of information into a coheret, concise, authoritative package Thank you for demystifying this topic for the general public I think you have just about done the equivalent of a Masters Thesis in watch calibers here Much respectbrbr - LL Comment from : Lash LaRue |
Great video I wish someone made a spreadsheet with the types of movements and the watches that use them I’d much rather use such spreadsheet when picking a watch to buy instead of just buying based on appearancebrThanks Comment from : Digeridoo |
No we don’t overlook the movements, it’s one of the key features of a watch we enthusiasts look for Comment from : JIM VAV |
Ok, I’m curious, Seagull makes 25 of movements Maybe hard to know about them because I guess they stay in China Forget the bias against Chinese but didn’t even mention them I love Seagull and maybe don’t have others experience but are they the Japanese cars of the 60s? Comment from : Wayne Riley |
Teddy Bulbasaur done upped my watch game fr fr Comment from : Casimir III |
Recently I was told that I "had no class" in another channel's comments section for wearing a Marathon automatic field watch with the Seiko NH35A movement which they stated "is a cheap Asian movement" when COMPARED to a g-shock of all things LOL I'm glad Teddy sells Marathon In my defense: sapphire crystal, hackable automatic and manual movement, 24 jewels, tritium tubes and maraglo lume! You get a lot of watch for the price not matched by much more expensive pieces My only complaint is that it is kinda small on my wrist by current standards- I'd like them to do a larger field watch like they did with their gmt's and dive watches Comment from : in·trac·ta·ble maskvp mGy |

The most interesting brand for me is Soprod, they try to make diferent calibers and more brands should use them, they are not clones so it is better Annother funn factor is that Sellita is Spanish, Soprod is Spanish and no body hear about spanish watches All swiss Ok, I want variety, so I want brands from different countries, not only swiss or japanese Germany Italian, Spanish Australian a world collection Comment from : madjh |
Gosh I just love this channel Comment from : HT03 |

Excellent video about Movements I would like to see a video about the rest of the watch because no one does Example, who makes the watch cases, especially for Screw Downs with better quality threads that will last a long time I have two micro brands that uses NH35 with screw down that junked out in less than a year because of inferior low cost threads So, my assumption is that the better known brands are using better quality threads for their screw down watches I dare you to make a video that points this out Comment from : Keith Mitchell |
