Monetizing house chores teaches children they chores are non-obligatory and makes them ignore real costs of living like rent and electricity I'm not saying demand rent from your kids, but don't teach them chores are something 'extra' they can do to earn money They should see chores as something they do to keep their family home neat and tidy, and not as a means to an end

It is better to just teach the kids to save and spend it right places I'm not sure that associating regular maintenance of the household with money is a particularly good idea It gets the job done, but it might not become an independent habit

I try to get my kids to do chores explaining that we are a community and as so, everybody should contribute a little to the well functioning of the family I relute to use other "methods" The thing is they hardly do their chores and I get frustrated I could be a bit more emphatic, but it's faster to do their chores instead

I'm 18 and I done all these things for free because my parents wanted me to do these things so simple it was Its sad how it changed When I was 10 i got 2$ a month It was completly normal that i went out with the dog for a hour every day or empty the dish cleaner Its not a good thing to offer that huge amount of money for these simple tasks The kids dont learn how to spent money when they get 20$ for walking with the dogs in his age You should do these things because you appreciate that your parents go to work to earn real money for your food and clothes This new generation that spents their money on fortnite skins with the age of around 11 years instead of real toys or sweets will be a poor one Greetings from germany
