My impression is he did not have a fusion in his first surgery Might have had a “discectomy” and an artificial disc placed in the ruptured disc area Might have to have fusion I saw there is abrDisc-seep- so method of sealing a ruptured disc since most tears happen in a particular position Goal is to obtain consistent spacing of the vertebra and pressure off the sciatic nerve to relieve pain Guess you would give steroids pre-and post-op to reduce swelling of the structures Not too much or it causes pathological fracture and general reabsorption of bone without depositing p+, calcium,brEtc to recreate bone I do not know any of the newest techniques for repairing a ruptured disc Comment from : Robert Frame |
