I just purchased one for my 8 yo japanese chin and 4 yo pomeranian-pets plan Both are purebred My 8 yo i paid 50+/monthly, with 80 reimbursement, $500 deductible and unlimited coverage Mostly covered except preventative but u can add on it It includes therapy like chiropractors etc I check others as well but they are more pricey and sometimes doesnt include dental, or Dr visit etcbrMy 4 yo has same except i ddnt add the chiropractor thing Mybe ill add it later on life but they are both healthy and goes to vet semi annual

All you guys are talking about "peace of mind" LOL, at the time you really file a claim you will know "this is not covered, and that is not covered" And considering the remaining part is covered, minus the deductible Voila! You are reimbursed ----------- 9$ !!!! That's my newest datapoint from healthypaws, I actually felt insulted and funny, I'd rather they just tell me 0 reimbursement, I would be okay with that

I pay almost $200 every 3 months for my 2 dogs through Fetch I haven’t needed it yet thankfully but my dogs are still really young (almost 1 and 2 yrs old) The peace of mind is worth it to me

So let me get this right so with this insurance if I take my dog to the vet and they tell me ok the total coat is 1000 dollar I have to pay the 1000 dollar to get reimbursed

As soon as you said the first vet told you he was losing red blood cells, I knew what it was My dog was diagnosed the same thing and I paid nearly the same amount trying to diagnose it I almost lost my poor baby girl, and the numbers scared me, but we do anything for our little ones, fur or no fur

This really defeats the purpose of “insuring” ur pet , if u have to have the money prior to even having ur pet seen Some procedures can be thousands of dollars upfront

I've never been fond of insurance companies I'd always be waiting for them to come up with an excuse not to reimburse me after having paid a vet They make the contract and their business, at the end of the day, is profitable when they don't pay out! I've just had too many horror stories in my family!😳

Insurance companies do one thingmake money Your coverage will never be worth more than what you are paying in the long run That's how insurance works They will do everything in their power to make sure they DO NOT pay your claim It's 100 their job Their policies & exemptions ensure this process happens Many companies actually increase their pricing when they have insurance on fileso either way you end up just paying more brbrI believe the best scenario is to find out the best coverage plan cost and just put that aside every month This gives you a fund account for your pet in the event something horrible does happen and you get to choose how the money is spent In the event the life of the pet ends, that money can rollover to the next pet should you choose That being said, peace of mind is pricelessbut make no mistake, insurance can be a false peace of mind and you still get hit with that bill

I adopted a 6 year old dog in September 2021 and took out Pet insurance in October with every paw UK i pay £1800 per month I December 2021 my dog got very bad ear infection the treatment started incl CT Scan anestasia for far her bill is over £2000 so far my excess is £110 per condition The insurance paid out the 1st claim no problem and i am sure they pay the rest as well ! PET INSURANCE , YES!

I’m about to get my mini goldendoodle in a couple weeks and I also live in SF I’ve been doing a lot of research on insurance plans as well From what I’ve discovered is the cost of the insurance is determined by the number of claims in your zip code which is very interesting I understand most breeders have a 1 - 2 year health guarantee Were you able to connect with your breeder about your puppy’s condition at the time?

We have a labradoodles he’s now 4 We also have healthy paws insurance We liked how easy it it to submit his claims The only negative thing about healthy paws is that the past 4 years it has gone up a lot We used to pay $34 a month now we are up to $68 We will stick with them for now
