Great video, this is why I like local coin shops My local shop recently ordered two 1/4 ounce gold eagles for me at $20 over spot While I was there, I picked up a 2022 gold one ounce Britannia he just took in for $50 over spot Cash and carry, no paper trails these online places are just too high Comment from : Jewelry Enthusiast |

Gold eagles people Comment from : john |

Good comparison But, at 6:56 you use purchase price to compute spread premium percentage You did it again at 8:30 for the quarter oz gold It might seem minor, but it becomes a lot when you compare ASE's vs Rounds when you use SPOT as denominator instead of purchase price (especially since ASE's were running almost 90 above spot earlier this year) brI would always calculate premium as a function of SPOT in denominator, not the purchase price of coin It is a better comparison of differing premium and cost coins or you end up diluting the higher premium cost from a "percentage" basis, and I like to think of Premium as adder above spot (not subtractor from final coin cost) Comment from : Jeff McClain |
I definitely miss the type one design a lot, and really wish people would STOP paying these high freakin premiums so they'd drop the price so we can buy even more Comment from : Anxious Stacker |
When I buy silver it is generic rounds or bars I just picked up a 10 oz Provident Metals incuse bar for just over $25 per ounce For gold, I am with you on the 1/4 oz coins on SD Bullion or sometimes the $5 Commemoratives which are 2413 oz and 90 gold They are more affordable than the 1/4 oz coins but are a little less attractive when selling Comment from : John McGowan |
Liked your content! Crazy how much a year can change (shake) things up! Comment from : you never know |

Government Gold is definitely the way to go at the moment with silver premiums so high When premiums go down I will trade some good for silver eagles Comment from : rAging Gamer |
Of course part of that premium is you have to actually make 20 coins as opposed to just making one of the gold coin Notice also that that's exactly an 80 to 1 gold to Silver ratio Comment from : Cory Williams |
Another thing to consider is, buying 5$ Liberty gold MS63Instead of MS70 1/4 Oz American eagle There both the same weightYet cost the same price! Pre- 1907 Liberty's are getting scarce! A lot of them were melted overseas for there gold content! Comment from : William Hamilton |

Gold has another value, It takes up a lot less space Comment from : shekatagani |

Spread is crazy in the US, here in Belgium the spread on a 1/4 golden Eagle is 10 and can even be lower in some shops Premium is around 11,5 and you get 1,5 over spot price when you sell the coin Comment from : Paul Cool |
Morning from Jacksonville I am finding your videos very informative Comment from : Scott Thacker |

where is the best place to buy gold today? Comment from : Mike Kennemer |

Ok, please chime in any and all watching Why is America’s mint screwing gold buyers? Even Mexico sells 999 fine?! yet in our country they still try to screw you on the purity? Comment from : Tangible Existence |
Personally I'd rather buy 1 oz Gold coins whenever I can afford to, that brings the premium down to 7-8 (depending on the coin of course), as the buy-back price in the Country I live in is Spot for whatever gold coin you bring them I don't see much point in buying fractional gold coins with 15-20 premium knowing that I would lose that for sure when it comes to sell them Comment from : greycats99 |

Gonna get rich from efferiums and buy out comex Comment from : Zinnshady |

I’m just curious why you bother reading the disclaimer? Even if you give advice/opinion; or were a financial planner giving advice and someone lost money, it’s highly unlikely you’d be somehow liable unless you committed fraud - intentionally misleading for pecuniary gainbrbrBtw, I find your videos especially this one extremely helpful brbrThank you Comment from : socalcraigster |

Mexican gold and silver coins less premiums than US last I looked (I live in Mexico so not just idle curiosity) Thanks for upbeat take on gold versus silver here and attractiveness of fractional ounce as I have a) kind of been regretting I did not buy all my gold in one ounce LIbertads, but bought also fractional ounce (Aztecas, HIdalgos), and b) kind of regretting did not put more in silver than gold (I did fifty fifty) as silver has as you said potential for much greater increase in value (but again, who knows, considering US economy is heading toward the toilet) To again, thanks for video, I feel much better about my (rather modest) purchases PS Main reason I bought gold at all is portability compared tot silver, and for fractional ounce coins being able to use if on the move, or being displaced Comment from : Lobogris |
I only buy silver from a local coin dealer The premium is less than online and it's not traceable Comment from : SilverGram |
Good luck finding quarter ounce gold eagles The mint is not and has not made them for quite some timebrYou have plenty of silver why hammer a person on their first tube of eagles? Some people are just starting out and I find your comment to the person just finishing off their first tube of eagles rude as hellbrYou should have said congrats and betting you turned him off your channel like it did me I also have plenty of silver eagles and am happy another is stacking Rubbed me way wrong when you tell someone good but they are overpriced??? The market is what the market is just because we started before the masses is no reason to say what you did Comment from : Tony L |

i hope you understand the shipping cost, the minimum buy back amount, and whether or not you buyer is going to be interested in the type of coin you want to sell, at the time, the preims you will not get back read the fine print! expierement selling, see if you get what you expected maybe save to buy full oz for lower priems, the same i oz of gold will vary in price by country that backs it, do you know hqw much tax will apply to it at the end of year and/or what states required at point of sale? be wise and be wealthy ! Question, does it matter if you put silver in capsules to prevent milking and tarnishing? Does milking or tarnishing lower the value of silver? Do scratches lower the value? Comment from : SonJohn |

I don’t buy fractionalonly Ozs Greater density in smaller package Don’t buy bars either Only coins Might as well enjoy stacking while I do it Also have to say, I’ve not bought any silver this year too with insane premiums Only gold when it goes below $1700 Comment from : Bryan |

Noticed fractional gold seems more scarce than full one ounce size, probably due to the price the average person can afford to shell out, also might have to due with liquidity when time comes to sell back Will hit the LCS next payday My silver base is sufficient so it only makes more sense to go for the gold if it's something I plan on keeping long term Takes up much less space and packs a super punch Comment from : D S |

so good that people finally talk about spread & premiums in real terms, thanks Comment from : Random Schmid |

The comparison between a tube of ASEs and a 1/4 oz AGE is such a perfect marker I’ll pick up a few tubes when the premium does back down It’s been too high for about a year and a half Good video, Florida! Comment from : 2 is 1 |

In the spirit of"seeking value", here's an FYI for your Active Military/Veteran viewers: brbrJM Bullion and their sister company, Provident Metals offer a military discount, which gives you "as low as" pricing regardless of the qty Comment from : Stacker - Staker - Dividend Maker |

Nice, informative video I have not given much thought to the buy back price since I am a long holder Right now, I just can't stomach the premiums on ASEs I, also, prefer the lower gold premiums right now I have a nice little spreadsheet I wrote to calculate premiums per ounce for individual products It has opened my eyes Even fractional 10g gold bars are very attractive with a premium of less than 6 Comment from : The Silver Sergeant |
My local coin shop had 2 quarter oz gold eagle's they were asking $520 each2020silver eagle's for $37 Comment from : That One Guy |

My take on premiums is thisbrInflation matches premiums Meaning, it costs more for the suppliers to purchase the goods Fuel is now more expensive ( just like groceries),brMinimum wages have gone up in many places,brEtcbrNow an lcs, bullion dealer, wherever you buy from needs to pay for this In part it's transfered to the customer (you) brI've been in the game since 1983 getting my first silver 1 oz bars as Christmas giftsbrI've seen the prices rise and lower like the tideit doesn't bother me much because everyone needs to make a living But there are limits And yeah, I'm keeping on my retirement account stackbrJust wait till a big Mac meal costs 1500!!! You know it’s funny I have zero AGE in 1/4 or 1/2 oz I may need to start buying more frac gold I did just get a Canadian 1/4 oz We got the new designed eagles set to begin arrival in July, so time to start saving up for those gonna be an expensive 2nd half of the year a tube of 2021 ASE and at least a 1 oz AGE 😂 Comment from : Aloha Stacker |
I know American Eagles are higher than generic or bullion but some states require a dealer to hold on to generic or bullion gold or silver for 30 days before they can resale it Gold or silver American Eagles they can resale to the next customer Florida is one of those states with a bunch of different rules I know it's crazy but that's the way it is I believe there is no paper work involved with American Eagles but with generic and bullion there is I guess it's a Florida thing I bought 6 ounces 3 generic and 3 isle of man reverse proof angel coins Can't wait to get them Comment from : William Fender |
Good info! I picked up another 1/4 today, too Comment from : TheDad Dan |

I love the AGE but the taxes on them for me makes it an unrealistic coin to stack I have a few maples and kangaroos, I will probably buy one 1/4 AGE and eat the tax on it great video Comment from : rAgtAg Stacking |

When paper currency collapses it's going to be a lot easier to trade a one once silver coin than a quarter ounce gold coin or even a tenth ounce gold coin If anything, even a full ounce silver coin will be too big and it will be easier to trade silver quarters and silver dimes Comment from : GreenDieselMan |
And gold eagles and silver eagles if you have to sell you don't have to fill out the new 2021 tax forms look it up if you sell 25 ozs of generic silver you have to fill out capital gains tax forms new for 2021 just read it today thank Joe Biden for this too Comment from : sunshine stacker |

Because of premiums I've been buying only generics and lower premium coins like Krugerrands Call me a tin foil hat conspiracy theorist, I don't care, but spot is being manipulated to keep smaller customers from profiting, while raising premiums to allow wholesalers and dealers to profit more Comment from : Eddie L |
I scored 20 asahai silver bars for a decent $4 CAD premium I won’t be buying any silver for $6+ an ounce I don’t believe the shortage I do believe that dealers have loads but are playing the shortage game and that results in crazy premiums on silver I won’t burn my money by paying such an outrageous premium Comment from : Cherokee Fit |
I been stacking for a while have 2,25, gold bars and ,1/10 oz gold bars also half tube of 1/10 american gold eagle 🦅 half of monster box of america silver eagle 🦅 Waiting for the new design to come out Now I'm continuing to fill my ,1/10oz tube up one per month,we all stack differently Keep stacking my friend 🇺🇸💪🏽🇺🇸🤑 Comment from : Calvin Cooper |
