Thanks very much to both of you for your work and for the videos! It's hard not to use technology devices because through them i can access to this wisdom But i try to use them carefully brbrI'd like to ask you a question, even if i know It woulf be difficult ti receive and answer It regads Carlos Castaneda's work with don Juan Don Juan says there are entityes called voladores He says theese entityes have putted in our mind their tyoe of mind in a very ancient time This mind Is Logic and goal oriented, filled with fear for the unknown This features make It adapt to produce Energy from which the voladores take their "food" Accordingly to don Juan we should train to develop and increase our intuitive mind ( right emisphere of the brain?) to strenghten ourselves and to get liberated from them brbrTo me It seems that this could be a mithological way to face the issue you are approaching It's quite weird as a vision of the human existance, but it's fashinating The question i'd like to make to both of you Is: can this narrative be useful to understand the world we are leaving in, and to face the issues like mind control related to c19 virus or the upcoming citizen's control through "smart cities" Thanks very much if you can answer And I apology for my bad english! brAll the best for you!

If you want to know about Shakespeare, check out John Aubrey`s "Brief LIves" He knew people who knew him, suchas Ben Jonson If you think the Earl of Oxford wrote his plays, take a look at hos poetry It`s really poor-quality

In a very sad way I am finding the story about the passcode insanity comforting, because I generally tend to think this stuff is a breeze for everyone but me I guess if Iain McGilchrist is having the same problem maybe everyone is I hate barcodes and passwords I remember the days when a bank would call me up and warn me that my check would be bouncing unless I could get down there with some cash - they would hold the check til I could get there Now it’s hell to pay and numerous chats with robots just to get transferred to a human to get the whole thing straightened out all the secret answers to the secret questions answered etc Hours of wasted time of course

Robert Smuggles
I urge readers of Master and Emissary to read Morris Berman's 'Twilight of American Culture' - which was written in 2000 On page 119 Berman says the following "The logical endpoint of this is a purely technocratic Weltenschang, the vision of a totally administered world" Iain McGilchrist's unique contribution is the realisation that the left hemishphere will take over if it is not restrained But the phenomenon of "dumbing down" - the closing of the American mind etc etc - has been written about for 40 years by many authors Berman describes what is going on socially and McGilchrist explains the biology behind it

Matthew Stokes
What I just wrote is not an emanation of left hemisphere domination - it is perhaps closer to right hemisphere supremacy… But, no, it is the state of balance - correctness - generated through Faith in the mind-blowingly glorious and the sublimation of the self to the beautiful Lord
Comment from : Matthew Stokes

RDM
Was hoping to hear a bit more about evil Evil contra “good” brbr…we say “good and bad”brbr we also say “good and evil”brbr is evil just (say) “ a really big bad” or is evil not only quantitatively different from bad, but in addition, bqualitatively/b different?
Comment from : RDM

It's such a delight to see God's gift given to Iain I pray for his soul salvation so he can be truly enlightened If onky he could know how much clarity he would have in his thinking and gifting I thank God for Iain You are in my prayers Sir
Comment from : Gabriela Nita

Gideon Last
I think psychometric testing is part of the problem Apparently, our police force now uses it to weed out those who might use initiative, intuition, and common sense in their interactions with the public, preferring instead those who apply logical thinking and follow the protocols to the letter

Great talk thankyou Evil is to be steered down, agree, not to be turned away from We need to individually and collectively take responsibility for it in our consciousness We could call this 'sin' It does look as though that 'sin' belongs 'on others' (outside us) and we will of course project it unless we can take responsibility for it Take responsibility for it but not make ourselves 'wrong' for it We need to be able to look at this in the full knowing it is not the Truth It does need to be forgiven, forgiven from within and surrendered to God (the God Self) so we can be shown the Truth of who and what we are and come to know it Let us hold each other in a loved and healed place whilst we do the work Blessings x

1312i totally agree80percent of us will experience disability in this life at some point(not inc the family carer) and it has psychological implications in the family when one reaches 'less than' in financial terms(wolfsberger et al deathmasking)the less capable(inc those whose imagination and interoception was abused by controlling parents teachers etc) in this life consistently miss out i would argue leading to learned helplessness(seligman) across generations(codependencycontrol avoidancedenial etc patterns)the last 2000 yrs of applied belief systems(religion art science power structures) have programmed up brains to 'surrender'and because the 'higher power' was learned as being a subjugator in childhood(parental trauma/addictions etc)the locus of control moved within for the narcissist and remained outside the codependent(97percent of population apparently)its a conscious effort to live a spiritual life and accepting only a thimble full of life is under our controli love micheal meades story when he explains left and right thinkingand how jesus can come in on the left foot(the evil side)i have much hope for this world when in the past i didnt🙏thank u world for people like these who think deeply

The adventures of life are a journey brAgain, thank you, Dr Iain McGilchrist and Mark Vernon, for this discussion of enormous insights of liberation of ourselves I am like a child with cotton candy all over my hands and mouth, I have had to stop on a road lost that splits both ways Which one do I choose? The one home? On the right? Or do I choose left? I think I will wait and learn more Imagination and intuition as I learn more listening to the most invigorating discussions I have ever had the opportunity to listen tobrAgain, thank you for all of your books

The choice I set before you today is crucial The decision is near to your heart and mind, and you must choose If your heart turns away, and will not listen, and if you are drawn to follow evildoers, you will surely perish Behold, I have set before you good and evil, life and death Now choose life, that you and your descendants may live Deuteronomy:30

🙏🏽Great stuff, enjoyed that very much brbrA few little randoms: brbrThere's also talk of homo ludens - homo ludificatus brbrYou and i get as much pleasure and entertainment as we can handle, and it is sad to see so many of our fellow humans hand over entertainment as well as responsibility to "others"brAlso very sad to see that so many are so afraid of dying that they forget to live brbryes Y Harari makes me shudder brbrNot always is being a good upstanding citizen according to the norm the right thing to be brbrEvery obstacle encounters opportunity, every opportunity encounters obstacles brbrI'm particularly taken by the Bogomils' way of bringing up children The women would take care of the children up to age 7 During that time they would work out what interests, abilities, aptitudes etc the children were inclined to After this the children could choose who in the community to learn what from I can't imagine any of those young ones not valuing themselves Nor any of them engaging in detrimental activities, or handing over responsibility to others brbr🌳🕊💚

Also keeping oneself safe should not stop us from being courageous and adventuresome Safety to me is based on the ability to use intuition and wisdom in the moment when we might be doing something foolish

I experienced this in a dialogue with a loved one I was told as to transgenderism had no right to address it at all And in another conversation with the same daughter she chastised me for expressing a not totally thought through Point I took the time to express the importance of developing a point through dialogue which to her defence she listened and acknowledged it was true

The concept of something greater than us propelling us to destruction, has been portrayed numerous times: the Matrix, I, Robots, and all the seemingly distasteful zombie movies, just to name of few It's a process of slow euthanasia so I'm unsure if awareness (and conscious resistance) along can pull the plug, at least the Bible didn't think so
Comment from : V H

David Drew
Personally, I don't believe in a pure force of evil, but rather the absence of good It's important to stay alert to it all the same, and I remain open to the idea Another divine discussion Thank you

An excellent presentation and certainly addresses the urgency of our time good ppl have been led far away from the very basics of human interactionextremism is narrative of the dayneighbors now often lost the importance of communication instead opting to spout out hatred and disengagement that is the result of the massive psyop that has been spoon fed usthe importance of acting as responsible adults is now more of utmost importanceand coming together to identify the true evil that drives this unnatural rule of the dayI believe as do many others that we truly are seeing the battle for our souls playing outI agree 100 with you both when addressing the fear of death playing a major role in a fear driven societythe quest for immortality really is the legend one leaves behindgreat show cheers from Mexico
Comment from : jim ranallo

James Boswell
Yep, the psychopaths are very much in control in the west too - don't be deceived by the occasional election and the ludicrously self-described "free press" (mostly owned by press barons anyway) These days policy is set in Davos and at other oligarchical gatherings (certainly on anything that matters)

William Gilchrist
Helmuth Hubener, guillotined for typing out leaflets 1942, germany he did the right thing l stand by the roadside with leaflets and signs, essentially telling people they're being monumentally and detrimentally lied to we all must stand against tyranny, for that is the paramount aspect of our times all the best Iain l know, you know william ireland
Comment from : William Gilchrist

Robert Humphreys
First step: cease responding to all surveys and polls And I mean all They are the most dehumanizing of all "tools" and, personally, I associate them with the degeneration of services in virtually all walks of life As the Silicon Valley folks say, if you aren't paying for it, you are the product Why facilitate the process by responding to surveys and polls? Also, as Ian suggests, resistance may be futile but mass resistance will work
Comment from : Robert Humphreys

Robert Humphreys
We have miseducated three generations and are actively working to miseducate the fourth Coupled with the obsession with electronics and social media, Covid was the perfect storm A majority seem oblivious to the lasting effects of Covid This is what left-brain-focused education, training, and perpetual immersion has produced Going back to the "way we were" will be monumentally traumatic Of course, humans are not built for this environment, as is becoming obvious from data on the mental state of the young
Comment from : Robert Humphreys

Wendy S
I agree with him about the stupidity of the idea that everything is a simulation It's as if they think movies are always really real, and so they embrace what was put out in a movie, but it was actually just a freaking movie, for God's sakesmh
Comment from : Wendy S

Wendy S
We MUST stop warehousing the elderly In times past, they remained in the home regardless of any infirmity which we now use as an excuse to jettison them from their family In the past they were there, available, to the younger ones to point out things they had noticed but which the young had no experience with They could keep them from mistakes that had already been made How can they do this, if they are not there? Instead they are sent to group homes where they can counsel no one except each other, which they don't need, so are left to die in loneliness, their good counsel not there for their family, which family proceeds forth in ignorance, and re-makes mistakes which could have been prevented THE ELDERLY ARE WORTH THE TROUBLE TO KEEP AT HOME Did they not care for US when we were helpless and in diapers? How should their lives end with strangers, and not with those whom THEY took care of, who now can't be bothered, yet it is their own destruction they are fostering, by rejecting the elderly as too much trouble to take care of

The main question should be :brWho exactly puts psychopaths in such brplaces and in such positions in society ? brWhat for ? For what reason ?brWhat we all ready know is : brHitler was a psychopaths and drug user , brStalin also was a psychopath , brso called" Dr "Mengele who work for brNazist during Second World War also was psychopath brTed Bundy in USA , Manson , "Dr " Kinsay etc brQuestion is :brThey were psychopaths because they brwere born that way ? brHas anyone made them psychopaths ?

Peter Tambourlos
Can we establish strife as another word for suffering
Comment from : Peter Tambourlos

Peter Tambourlos
I think if we would have recognized and thought more about "the harmony of opposites" we would be 2500 years ahead instead of being 2500 years behind
Comment from : Peter Tambourlos

Peter Tambourlos
Plato was very much aligned with Heraclitus on nature But substituted him for Socrates Why? Heraclitus was not a fan of Pythagoras, yet Plato needed more evidence for his principles in the Republic Notice where numbers were in Plato's hierarchy of principles Strife is the foundation in nature, why would it not be in philosophy
Comment from : Peter Tambourlos

Peter Tambourlos
Thank you Mr McGilchrist, for conducting philosophical inquiry ethically These group think techniques they use is infact "the prostitution of thought" in the popularization of nonsense
Comment from : Peter Tambourlos

treefrog3349
I truly believe that the Earth is in the process of "vomiting up" the human species like some sort of noxious food that it has allowed to enter its system Humans have not been "kind" to the EarthWe have proven to this four-billion-year-old miraculous system that we are an "unhealthy" experiment in bio-genesis And we are about to be explosively and summarily expelled
Comment from : treefrog3349

Anne Baring
I am reading Matthias Desmet's recent book, The Psychology of Totalitarianism Its theme fits precisely with what is being discussed here It, like Iain McGilchrist's recent work, warns us about the change of values that leads to technological control or enslavement of vast populations
Comment from : Anne Baring

Michelle Renee Orth
I don’t know who said it but I recall reading a theory that civilizations often collapse under the weight of their own bureaucracy Seems like a good description of what is happening

Very interesting discussion thank you About evil, the word evil comes from the word wolf Obviously, a wolf is something that threatens a human’s life And as far as Jesus Christ he was tempted by the prospect of great power on the temporal plane rather than a spiritual plane In other words he was tempted with a desire for worldly power but he chose spiritual power I agree that we are in a very scary time where we face the banality of evil, meaning that which will destroy Life, our life and the life of the planet
Comment from : aldebaran Redstar

Peter Roselle
There is a famous true story of escaping Ravensbruck concentration camp told in a book called “The Hiding Place,” by Corrie Ten Boom She wrote a sequel called “Tramp for the Lord” I highly recommend both for an inside look at evil and the immense power contained in forgiveness
Comment from : Peter Roselle

Southern Comfort
As a University lecturer of many years, I have noted one key impact that technology has wrought on the human mind Be it the technology of the consumption of music, news, or information, what it has led to is a chronic shortage of attention span CEM Joad once wrote that he was "born into a country of beauty and grew old in a country of beauty spots" Equally, technology has done the same thing with the time/information dynamic Life is now made up of 'sound bites' and 'idea bites' brbrSo much is this so that there are somethings that are virtually impossible to teach now because the concentration they require - and patience - is now in such short supply that the whole project has to be abandoned brbrFurther, I am not being smug about this or just casting slurs on poor Generation Z For technology has also worked its magic on me Films I had the patience to watch and books I had the patience to read twenty years ago I find now an impossible task I too have joined the League of Grasshopper Minds (sadly!)
Comment from : Southern Comfort

Main Intelligence Directorate
I totally agree with your point about the mobile phone I am reminded of my Uncle Ken Williams He was a policeman - who consistently refused promotion - on Anglesey He told be that he knew when it was time to retire It was when they introduced the 'walkie-talkie' He knew from that moment that he had forever lost his autonomy and become a puppet under the control of a master Likewise with my mobile phone I refer to it as 'the wife and work's tracker' brI make sure that it works for me, rather than me working for it brPutting it off, I tell people, saves energy and is therefore good for the environmentbrI told a lady this recently and she thought it was an affront to common decency and an example of being a 'bad and irresponsbile husband' When I told her that I was happy to leave it (the phone) at home sometimes she looked at me as if I had just robbed the Poor Box

If you wish to maximise the return on your financial investments it is absolutely in your interest to have a psychopath as the CEO of the company He or she will trample anyone or anything in the way of those all important profits I don't have any shares but I do have a pension plan Same thing really
Comment from : Ted Bear

Scott Jones
"The greater the bureaucratization of public life, the greater will be the attraction of violence In a fully developed bureaucracy there is nobody left with whom one could argue, to whom one could present grievances, on whom the pressures of power could be exerted Bureaucracy is the form of government in which everybody is deprived of political freedom, of the power to act; for the rule by Nobody is not no-rule, and where all are equally powerless we have a tyranny without a tyrant" brHannah Arendt
Comment from : Scott Jones

Josh Bowe - Art Work
I found Mark's comments on imagination and the differences with fantasy absolutely fascinating, really chimed with my own experience in art It's easy to whimsically cascade down a line of thought, but as soon as you get a bleep on the imaginative radar from an observably exterior source, you almost know you must double your efforts thank you both
Comment from : Josh Bowe - Art Work

The world has been run by conmen for a looooooooong timeThey permeate the 'culture' from withinbrbr"Mathematics has the completely false reputation of yielding infallible conclusions Its infallibility is nothing but identity Two times two is not four, but it is just two times two, and that is what we call four for short But four is nothing new at all And thus it goes on and on in its conclusions, except that in the higher formulas the identity fades out of sight"  br (Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe)

It's interesting that the psychopathic elite want us to see the world as they do (bureaucratic, technological, narrowed freedoms) and say we can evolve through technology rather than spirit Sad, that we've been lied to by powerful self-serving elites instead of taking another more humane, sympathetic pathand it is getting late for us and the planet
