Feral hogs not only tear up your pasture and kill wildlife they, probably worst of all, pollute all ground water sources brbrBecause feral pigs are hard to hit, especially after the first shit, a shotgun, as with gamebirds, offers the better advantage as compared with rifles However, it seems to me that since we're trying to destroy these costly pests, it would be best to throw the widest possible shot pattern So, I would like suggest the use of cylinder bore short barrels Don't you agree?

There are definitely Sasquatch out there, it's been known by a lot of people, check out how to hunt on YouTube he's a big game guide he's ran into these things his whole life he's been guiding for 30 plus years out in British Columbia his name's Steve isdale and he's a no BS type guy After you listen to him for a while you might be surprised what might took your pigs! I've hunted wild pigs on my life through the swamps of Florida killed hundreds of them and they don't carry each other off

I have never used a 00 buckshot load on wild boar, nor even a slug have always been a rifle hunter but have 2 very good shotguns that would be excellent Maybe will give it a try seems when I did hunt and carried a shotgun I didnt get the opportunity I have killed larger boar with rifles that had heavy shields and recovered 00 buck that did not penetrate Distance may have been an issue however Think it would be great for these smaller animals in the 60-120 lb class we call meat hogs, especially if running, enhanced hit potential

Buckshot is absolutely devastating on pigs I hear so many people say it's ineffective I had one guy telling me he shot a pig with buckshot and it bounced right off I told him you either missed, or you shot it 300 yards away in which case, that would be believablebrbrI myself use a 12 guage for eradication I occasionally shoot one for the meat, but a 12 guage does too much damage lol I love a 243 core lokt to the head

Greets from South Africa! Loved this! 00/LG as it's called here is extremely effective for pigs, especially the better patterning Hornady Critical Defense (Versatite wads) and Federal Flight Control 00 Not sure you'd want a tight pattern when hunting close range with so many hogs about though?

That looks like what we call a crab shell spider down here You said around a pond right so what about a gator?brThe way your hunting is i can see the shotgun Theres a lot of guys that use them herebrI never been that big on buckshot The only 2 shot hogs that got to me were one shot with a 9mm the other was hit with buckshot that didn't get through the grisle plate on a big boar But if I remember right it was a 16ga with number 3 buckshot brI like the 358-45-70 or 44mag for most of the shots After hurting my shoulder the 350L and 6mm rem have been doing the jobbrI use the 6mm for big hogs or when trying forcon for the freezer

Got a 2&3/4 recipe for #6, 7, or 8 that can be loaded with 00 buck normally with 30 gr of longshot we boost to 34 gr of powder with 15 ounce of shot or 00 buck All Winchester parts, blech, but it works out past 50 yards in a full choke Massive damage

It was very exciting just to see a Winchester pump shotgun in the video Most everything you see now days is Mossberg I have an old Winchester Defender, riot style shotgun 8+1 cylinder bore, I got back in 1988 I think it was I still love that gun, but my old shoulder don't like it so much anymore It's really hard to beat a shotgun with 00 Buck when hunting in thick brush

You can increase your effective range with a specialty buckshot choke with the right load Kick's, Carlson's, and Comp-N-Choke all make great buckshot chokes I shoot a Kick's Buck Kicker X-Full and it hold's deadly patterns out to 50 yards Takes a little time to find the right load for the choke, but it's worth it in the end Thanks for the videos, keep them coming

If you use buckshot you better aim for the head Sometimes buckshot will only partially penetrate the hump on large bore That's how tough it can be A family member found that out after butchering a 300 pound wild bore Buckshot was in the hump and the skin grew over it The hump on a large bore is like a shield Its tough as hell

Here in FL I've had good success using my Remington 870 with a cheap BSA red dot optic mounted on it I shoot standard 12ga 9 pellet 00 buck through an Improved cylinder bore at no more than 40 yards

I have used buckshot on a few pigs and for shooting in the eastern thick forests it is the best medicine IMO More often than not I have encountered the pigs at close range and after the first shot they are scattering and accelerating rapidly That's where a buckshot pattern and a fast pump or semiauto shotgun is just the ticket for making multiple shots I usually used #4 buck Get more of those blue whistlers out there

I forgot to mention Hollis Farms has videos of that very system he's not the manufacturer, but he can show you how to use them He talks a lot, but he's pretty good at chasing and bringing down hog populations You can ask him ifhesrenting or buying , or if he would rent you his for a short term
