For example: A restaurant has retained earnings of $100,000 A spent this money for renovation of a same brand restaurant in a new location Unfortunately that new restaurant didn't work out and closed down within a year Will this renovation expenses be used to offset A's profit? I'd like to know more about difference between active income and passive income For example: A restaurant invested in B restaurant $10,000, accounts for 10 ownership Management team of A restaurant helped B restaurant to set up the business and monitor B's daily operation etc Would the dividend from B be treated as Active income or Passive income?
