Chemistry is a complex subject It is not whether you have a disability or not Chemistry is tough to pass A lot of kids study hard to pass chemistry and still fail

@johnrainsman6650
I think I may have scared an employee (let's call her Olivia) away from work She asked me to hear her read her list of tasks, just to make sure she was reading it correctly She said she was dyslexic Well, I have a learning disability too It's very easy for me mix up instructions or the concrete things I see, and I often struggle with understanding things and need clarification An example is the time I put black linens on the tables for the upcoming wedding reception, not white ones; I'm just so used to black linens for other (and more common) types of services and events, it didn't cross my iconscious/i mind that we in fact use iwhite/i for wedding receptions (which, as stated, are rarer) Honest mistake really, but she questioned me and implied it was my fault for signing up for a shift where there was no one to guide me So as you can probably understand by now, I felt the need to let Olivia know what the supervisor is like whenever I misunderstand things Told her the boss bicould/i/b be like that for future reference, should Olivia's dyslexia inconvenience her in any way during a shift Just a total "may or may not case," I, of course, added, because I was technically generalizing from imy own/i experiences of the boss's impatience with imy/i learning disability I told Olivia to just keep it in mind and not think too much about it That she should come to me or another coworker if anything gets tough due to her disability Three days later, she quits My supervisor was telling me and another worker about it, and how surprised she was That Olivia didn't even explain iwhy/i she quit I think I might know why Did Igo too far?

@I-need-2-win
I have been in special ed classes, kids who needed special needs, and man it was rough because I kept on moving to different schools because they didn't had a specific class for me, it's strange because I was in a special class and supposedly I was the "smartest" one in there so they decided to move me to the other students who don't struggle with learning disabilities, the funny thing is that, I didn't really felt a difference I still struggle with math, focusing, speaking, writing, I lose my memory real quick in seconds so I have to ask again and again even I have a hard time reading and listening to instructions, I'm 20 now, and I start college in August, there's this sweet counselor of mine that puts me with teachers who are good and where I can feel comfortable with, they give me more time with my assignments and exams, funny how some people have the nerve to say "that's not fair that you get more time" actually it's fair for us who struggle with learning disabilities, there's no cure for this, all we can do try our best and keep it pushing with support 👊, I always thought I was dumb but it's not the case, I think I have this because I was born prematurely, but I'm not sure, sometimes I feel like should seek help from tutors or anyone in general but it's like I'm embarrassed like I have a bad habit of not asking for help when I really need it but that's just me, to anyone who's struggling with this, keep your head up, and push forward I know you can do it

I cannot believe they gave you an LD Glad they didn't do what I thought they did with the IEP Breaths happily for you without the feelings I am Satan according to the them You're bad at Chemistry but were in honors classes Chemistry is not a required HS class to graduate I did Environmental Chemistry my senior year You should have done that I can read and write, but I can't do math beyond an elementary level It's impossible It's a waste of time for everyone They tortured me in school in ways I can't even describe My helper was also in special ed, and she was like, "I would never do that to someone" We all know what "that" meant I guess it was all prep for my descent into Hell And yes, my mom tried to put me in a school like you're in now

If you are in the closet about your learning disability, most likely you have had theses struggles:brbrYou get anxiety when you read in front of someonebrbrYou getting anxiety when someone asks you to spell somethingbrbrYou can’t show your class schedule with your friends at the beginning of the school year because they’ll find out you’re in a bunch of special ed classesbrbrMaking friends is impossiblebrbrGetting pulled out of a General Ed class is the worst feelingbrbrNot feeling normal brbrTries not to be seen entering or leaving the special Ed classroom
Comment from : @yikeswow323

@amgshxiro7440
I honestly get it I went through so much as a kid and it sucked because I would get made fun of it I'm older now but when I think about it, there's a lot of things I may not understand and times I feel very down of myself because of it I was always one of the nicest people at my school but I still get bullied at school because of it I think of a quote like the prettiest eyes have cried the most tears, the prettiest smile hides the deepest secrets and the kindest ones have felt the most pain I'm in the middle when it comes to it so it's very hard to learn and wanting to understand like a normal person do but I realized that it will never happen But someday I hope I want to overcome this and do my own things in life

I was in special ed from 2nd to 6th grade in public school I failed 6th, and public school system wanted to place me in special ed, full time, and would eventually graduate with certificate of attendance I would have to return after my senior year, and stay in special ed, until I was 20 That was not the case, I went into private school, and did not have to repeat 6th grade Public school in the US is a slimy shit bucket with incompetent teachers and instructors I graduated form a private school, and went on to college, but did not graduate I gotan associates in media design and communication, and did graphic work for several years Thank you for the video!

Ha, I am literally the same with my brother; he's always been a bit of genius Me, not as much Super proud of him, never jealous of him or bitter about it, but sometimes I used to compare myself and feel dumb brI have finally realized/come to accept the idea that I may have a visual processing disorder and/or dyscalculia I am already in college, but I am going to get tested to find out what exactly is going on with me, and hopefully find out how to improve in some of the areas where I struggle brIt's really helpful to hear people who have similar issues talk about it So hearing your story was very inspiring :) I relate to so much of what you saidbrI am very optimistic that with a little help I'll be able to continue with my education I love all things science, especially neuroscience, psychology, zoology, ethology anything to do with brains and animal behavior Can't wait to be able to more deeply study the things I am passionate about

We had access to some of those resources on paper, not in practice We carried the label and the stigma that came with it, with our test scores and grades being flagged with asterisksbrbrIf you took the ACT, you likely filled out a survey asking if you any learning disabilities If you answered yes, the ACT organization forwarded this information to a database that universities and employers can access at any time and use to discriminate against you Your score was also flagged So if there's a school you didn't get into that someone with lesser grades did get into, now you know why

@JazzFan76
Unfortunately, I was born with learning disabilities I was always in special education classes in elementary school and in middle school I even went to a private school for kids with learning disabilities I never liked school I always had trouble with it as far as learning and the other kids calling me names like retarded because I was in special education classes They also made fun of me because I came from a poor family The only class I kinda connected with was music When I started playing the trumpet in 1989, I wanted to learn what I could My worst subject was math Even when I'd ask the teacher for help, sometimes they'd get frustrated explaining the same thing over and over I did go to the school psychologist and that's when he told my parents that I had learning disabilities They didn't care I also came from an abusive family Both of my parents and older siblings were abusive My mom always told me I'd amount to nothing and she was right, not like she amounted to anything either but that's another story I hated school so much, I dropped out at 17 in 1994 I tried to get my GED but failed three times so I just stopped trying Taking the GED test cost money I think like $25 and I was tired of wasting time and money I have tried multiple suicide attempts but yet unfortunately I am still here I can't seem to communicate with people who are more intelligent than I am Only people on my level, it seems My friend Paul who I knew for nearly twenty years also had learning disabilities too and went to special schools He graduated in 2006 but couldn't work because he was born with some kind of condition that made his muscles weak which is why he was kinda frail and like to wear baggy clothes He would tell me stories of how the kids in his school used to make fun of him because he was in special education classes I felt bad for him The kids would also make fun of his eyes too because the condition he was born with attacked the muscles and nervous system That same condition shortened his life He died March 4th 2015 at the age of 28 He was like a brother to me so when he passed, that added to my depression I've been even more depression since losing him I still try to learn things especially involving music but my mind just can't learn it I even have a hard time reading music sometimes and it's upsetting because I do feel like a stupid loser that went nowhere in life and is a waste of oxygen I did create one jazz song called "The Black Paddy" You can find it here on YouTube under my name Mitzi DeMarco I was able to hire studio musicians through AirGigs and Record the rhythm track and I went to a recording studio to record my trumpet I used tunecore to upload it to various social media sites I would like to do more jazz songs but I just can't seem to do more

I can totally relate I was considered as a Learning disability I have children now and my oldest is showing signs of multiple learning disabilities smh I was not the best at all in school I was pretty much pushed through school with the little work I could do No one attended to my disability and my parents kept the socials security for other things instead of a trainer or tutor So as a 28 year old female I hold my on responsibility and have respect for myself and others but around people my age I feel so little and out of place I am in between jobs and I hate the question tell me about yourself in interviews I like to work a job were I'm people focus but I never built the confidence to full grow these disabilities

I have adhd, and also a processing speed disorder Like you I’m a great reader and ace reading comprehension assignments, but unfortunately I don’t always do so well in the classroom I always thought I was just lazy or stupid My elementary school teachers were always yelling at me I hated school so much I’m just glad I never have to go back there I’m probably going to homeschool my own children though
