What are the options if you do not want a balanced fund in your portfolio but want to keep debt and equity separate Debt would give you average returns of debt and protect your principal, while equity will push for inflation hedgebrbrThe only point to be considered and that would depend on your life stage and savings stage is what would you place in equity versus debt

The only funds you need is a nifty50 and niftyNext50 in a ratio 3:1 or 4:1 Plus a gilt fund for debt portion for regular rebalancing Or you can use arbitrage funds for debt portion as they are tax efficient

kaushik Maji
Aggressive hybrid funds are good choice to begin with as later on one can build portfolio around it It guarantees downside protection, tax free equity debt rebalancing, equity portion follows flexi cap mandate providing fund manager greater degree of freedom to maneuver One should treat them pure equity A combo of aggressive hybrid and nifty next 50 or midcap quality can be a good option
