I don’t agree at all with paying yourself first That is very selfish and immoral because you don’t take care of all the obligations you have My boss paid himself first and almost every paycheck I received was only 50-60 of what was owed to me This went on for a year as he would say he would catch me up by Christmas Well Christmas came and I didn’t receive the $11,000 that he owed me As a matter of fact, he thought he owed me only $2500 He had kk intention of paying me I was just used and had to live in my car and the office I worked at with my dog because I didn’t gray enough on my paycheck to rent an apartment alone with a pet deposit So I don’t agree at all!

Great financial advice Without knowing it I’ve been instinctively “paying myself first” for years and I recalculate my budget continuously as it changes If you’re not finding extra money in your budget you really need to consider a different stream of income or downsize your budget Of course, this conversation doesn’t include a relationship but the rules don’t change much It’s just about being on the same page…

Free lifetime advice: To save and build wealth means your hobby is to save and build wealth It means you gain satisfaction every time you don’t spend or avoid spending The rest is just theories IF my hobby costs but makes me feel well, why the heck should i stop my expensive hobby to save money I have more money in bank than 10 years ago but i dont feel either better or safer i do feel well because i can afford to do my hobbies and enjoy life within reason Do what you please with your money but dont regret any future consequences (not travelling enough because you were building wealth or the other way round)

Agree with most points, but taxes are largely structured to benefit the wealthy Roth IRA, 401K, HSA do help reduce taxes, but things like small business exemptions aren't going to help most people It's not just that the wealthy can do workarounds of avoiding taxes, laws and their enforcement are purposely structured like that

Here in Zimbabwe even people who are referred to as poor have side hustles whether it’s planting vegetables to sell, buying and reselling airtime, or getting chickens and breeding them for resale or to sell their eggs… or buying clothes from South Africa/China/UK on sale and reselling them in Zimbabwe… people here are so industrious-the motto for any seeming obstacle is “ We’ll make a plan” meaning we will find a way to do it or to get around this
