Actually there was an alpha map of Karazhan in the game files in Vanilla but it never was accessible by normal means

just a late for the video at around 09:53 Yes, the loot was determind by the raid setup, we were able to prove it accidentially with the unsuspected help from another guild brduring wotlk, we raided many week ulduar and kept a complete list from every item drop even the random drops, at some point, we were able to say at which part the drop will happen we did raid ulduar for many weeks and the drop list, looked over this period of time 100 the same in other word, the loot was set in the moment the first boss was killed and since we looted over the weeks always the same items, we had a big problem 3 classes were fully equipped, the other classes had nothing we posted this issue in the forum we played on horde after a few days, a big surprise happened, a guild from the alliance side, had the exact same approach, the kept a list of every item as we, the also kept a list of classes within the raid and posted their results right below oursbrbrwhat was stunning, the it was the exact opposite of our loot we compared the official loot tables and saw the problem it came clear to us, that the faction also had an id, which set the drop list to a total opposite also the fact, that beside the key classes, tanks, healers, the dds were mirrored as well so maybe this also had some influence after some discussions, a forum moderator invited himself and told us the crappy same story, that the loot was random which was not the weekday had no influence, the time of the day had no influence brbri remember, when someone one entered to early the raid, there was this discussion about the loot, but in the end, the loot was set with the first boss kill, for the entire raid and to our bad luck, it was always set to the same outcome brbrthe slightly changed only one time, when we had to replace 2 members with randoms, which were different dds 1 replacement was not enough, the loot stayed the same 2 a small change could be observedbrbranother example for this broken mechanic, was during legion, a lot of players, blacksmiths and miners worked hard, to get the final step for completing their profession even i, had a very hard time it took me weeks, till the final ghost spawned, so that i can learn the final part during this time, i encountered a player, he had in one run, all the requirements met for these 2 professions and he was just playing a few weeks so far brbrat some point i came to one conclusion, since a lot of players, who started we me at the same time of wow, that something was off new players or accounts if you would like, had more bigger success rate in completing some grinding tasks than those, who played for a very long time the only key difference between us and the new players, where the accound IDs, new players had a much higher number, than we so the accound ID is also part in the calculation of succeding in questchains, which require the so called "random" factor brbrin other words, higher account IDs, result in better loot and random results Like the so called number correction of legendary drop, which was exposed during legion a counter, which increased everytime, when a legendary should have dropped, but did notbrbrThe mechanics were created many years ago, at a time, were high numbers were not considered, because the game was in its starting area But these high numbers had an effect on those and so players had unintentionally more success than others, despite their efforts and game time

the azshara underwater portal was there in the live version, pretty sure you can still find it in classic it's north of the map words "bay of storms", still within the bay no subactive so can't go there :

During the Warcraft 3 campaign you can see more Dark Portal's on some missions they used to summon demons from different Burning Legion worlds These where never added to World of Warcraft for some reason but you can still see the "Dark Portal Guy" statues around Azeroth like in the north western part of Burning Steppes for the Warlock quest

I was the guild luck token in vanilla/BC Regular raid member was arrested in Vanilla and left a spot open I was only 60 online who in guild who wasn't already in the raid (and attuned) So My Boomkin got the invite They didn't know what to do, since the guy I was replacing was normally who zoned in first and I wasn't aware of this brbrI showed up and said sorry for making everyone wait on me, and ran into portal Ended up getting better loot than they normally did (the boomkin buff was also apreciated by everyone) and I ended up becoming the new luck token going forward

From what I understand, the Emerald Dream was gonna be the next big chapter of the story in the Warcraft world, but due to Blizzard being kind of terrible at how they told the story, and the audience who got drawn to the game not really being into it/not understanding it, they ended up scrapping it and started adding fan service stuff, starting with Naxx I had forgotten all of this until I started playing Classic, but it's really cool seeing how the stuff with the elementals and the dragons and the titans keep coming up in various quests all over the world space, and how a lot of conflict is tied to those things Makes me wonder what could have been if Blizzard didn't panic and change their strategy to: REMEMBER THE OUTLANDS FROM WARCRAFT? REMEMBER ARTHAS FROM WARCRAFT? PLEASE FORGET ABOUT THE EMERALD DREAM? REMEMBER THE PANDAS? REMEMBER GROM HELLSCREAM? REMEMBER THIS REMEMBER THAT, etc

The tiger dropped in original Zul Gurub, super low chance but there was an actual tiger, also there is a spectral tiger gained from the playing cards sets Karazhan, in Wrath the devs started building the undercroft which in originality was as large below ground as it was above ground with tricks and traps and some pretty creepy furniture You used to get a mage to sheep you through the doorway, was pretty cool

I always wondered when loot drops were determined in Vanilla: when the mob spawns? When it is engaged? Or when it is killed and first looted? I suspect the last, because otherwise there would have to be a different mechanism for regular loot and quest loot

I'm sure that there is some truth in that about raid loot tables Back in phase 1, in my first guild the Cenarion items would just not drop, and when I changed guild, they were dropping like crazybrbrI thought it might be weighted by the amount of players of that particular class, but someone made a druid-only group and that didn't make druid items drop like crazy
