I always liked this movie I had to laugh when the man said, his grandfather was hit in the head by a foul ball hahah that happened to me at a Reds game when I was a kid they were playing the NY Mets a foul ball hit me so hard that my vision went TRIPLE Not even joking I saw 3 of everything after about 10 seconds it went to 2 views, and another 30 seconds finally back to one WOW It didnt even hurt, but the damn ball went off my head and up into the 2nd deck I had an imprint of the stitches from the ball on my head
Comment from : KY Stars

EV Hodge
This is why Woodance (his full name, first position) will always be who he is in the Arts - and all his attackers remain mediocre if not obscure He's not that weird when you take a 360 on humanity - there's much worse fuckers See that mirror? Look in there (References in this film were razor sharp at that time)
Comment from : EV Hodge

I watched this years ago and it was given away free on dvd with a Sunday newspaper No matter how many times I watch it I still find it hilarious

Govindan G R
very funny film indeed!
Comment from : Govindan G R

In Ralph Rosenblum's book he recounts how when he was brought in, this film was in shambles to the point the producers were considering not releasing the film The original editor didn't understand Woody's sensibility Being Woody's first film, he didn't have the experience to put together sequences and abandoned many sequences once he saw they were not working In none of the many test screenings, did anyone ever laugh It was after the structure was retooled and many sequences tightened, and many abandoned sequenced readded that the film finally started to work to Woody's vision Very interesting history as if this film had failed, there probably would not be any other Woody filmsbrbrThe book is called "When the Shooting Stops" The last three chapters are about working on Woody's films

Leo Brussel
I was 14 when this came out My dad took me It was a revelation for me I was hysterical When Woody's grandfather was hit in the head by a foul ball, rendering him mentally incompetent, and we were then shown WW1 footage purporting to show him with other inmates at the asylum, I couldn't stop laughing My dad asked me what was so funny I told him that it was obviously not an asylum It was obvious that we were seeing actual soldiers, not people who just thought they were It was also old footage It was insane My dad nodded and looked at me like he was seeing me for the first time
Comment from : Leo Brussel

I love the way he has no reaction when the guy smashes his foot with the hammer and you can't even tell what happened until you see him hobble away
