From the outset, you can see the title is wrong, for it conflicts with your message brIt should read, "Three Books That Changed My Life" Can't people be honest in their titles or is deceit and clickbait the new norm? Comment from : Stephen Doty |

The first important book I ever read in my teens was Machiavelli's The Prince In high school, I had a Machiavelli t-shirt My older cousin, who is a devout Catholic, almost shit himself when he saw it My favorite professor at university recommended Thucydides History of the Peloponnesian War I did read some of it I should finish it I had the Thomas Hobbes translation In my 20s, I read almost everything by Nietzsche I still feel he is the best thinker that I have ever read I did read one book by Castaneda: The Teachings of Don Juan (?) I still remember the scene where he rubbed peyote (?) paste on his legs and was running and hallucinating in the desert I haven't read enough Dostoevsky I don't agree with the conclusions he came to Later I really liked Camus, Kafka, Cioran, and Ligotti Thanks for sharing! Comment from : brian janson |

Nice episode I will definitely pick up the first two I have ready Carlos Castanedas books and after that whole journey of reading them I came to the conclusion that what Don was trying to do was break us out of the illusion that what we see is what is and that there is so much more to life and spiritual life if we can only wake ourselves from this illusion I was very moved by it My wife did not think much of it so its definitely for the people who are seeking this knowledge even if its just a faint ember that needs fanning Comment from : orKKa |

These seem like great choices for reading The best choice was that Robert Greene didn't put "The 7 habits of Highly Effective People" on his list That book is just a fluff book of nonsense Someone needs to make a habit out of not putting Stephen Covey's dumb book on everyone's "must read" list Comment from : lessons |
|
In my recent book I explored the concept of "Ugly ducking" and going on a journey to find the world the woman belongs to It's a book about intuition and the metaphor of a mountain as a life journey If you'd be keen to review it, please ping a message I'll get back "The Sacred Mountains" Comment from : Soulful Stories |
|
It's always strange how no one is inspired by work of classical literature anymore like Hemingway, Tolstoy, Remarque All we are interested now is this brutal quest on how we can make ourselves more efficient, and powerful and ultimately achieve "success" It's rediculous, I feel like we are turning ourselves into fighting dogs Comment from : AP |
