Thank you for being the first channel I've seen that explains what to do with the loan money to perpetually live off of it Most channels explain how to borrow the money, but you actually mentioned how you continually pay your living expenses if you can't invest in securitiesbrbrIf you can't reinvest the borrowed money into securities (ie dividend producing securities), you're left with a borrowed lump sum to fund the rest of your life But a 50 SBLOC is not going to pay your expenses for more than a few years, depending on how much you need So let's walk through a couple hypotheticals:brbr#1 Do you invest the borrowed money into businesses and real estate assets and live off their cashflow? Okay, but that cashflow is taxed at the normal rate So the advantage is you're able to purchase cashflow assets without using your own money Even though you're paying income tax on their cashflow, at least you didn't have to reduce your portfolio and tax yourself 40 on it just to purchase thembrbr#2 Do you try to increase the loan every year as a percentage of your yearly appreciation? So a 50 additional loan of a 10 appreciation of a $2m portfolio nets you $100k a year in additional loaned money I could see this working until the market crashes or has multiple down/sideways years where you can't increase your loan for expenses This would force you to sell 9 of your portfolio for that year ($180k) and pay its 40 capgains tax just to be left with the needed $108k living expense Doing this multiple years in a row during a market recovery would hurtbrbrWhat other ideas do you have for investing/using the SBLOC money to fund your family indefinitely? There is alot of focus on federal income tax when it comes to high earner, millionaires and billionaires However what people miss about this conversation is the total entirety of taxation towards the business from federal, state, county, and local Meaning, sales tax, depreciation( states that dont have income tax) state income, payroll tax(FICA), property tax, business asset tax, fuel tax, registration etc etc Everyday Americans are not necessarily getting taxed on those items Comment from : milesa2005 |
