I've been thinking about selling my collection, I have over a hundred Morgan Silver Dollars, 16 Silver halves mostly Ben Franklin's and Kennedy, I have 16 silver dimes, and other various silver coins I really don't want to sel the Morgans but I take care of my parents who are both not in good health So I need some cash What is the best way to sell a large collection? I appreciate any help and advice The Morgan dollars are mostly AU to BU and they are all in capsuls I'm very proud of them but times are hard right now

Thanks Daniel In order to sell one must be prepared, organized and do some work ahead of time To just plop down with a box is not going to show a dealer you care to do any work and want them to do work for you that you should have done Bad impression to the dealer !

What is a COA certificate of authenticity? I bought some PCGS coins from a dealer from back east about 25 years ago and they didn't come with any certificates Have the PCGS rules changed?

The eBay dealers who are trying to get $1200 for a reverse proof are going to wait a long time The smart thing would be to drop the price over time if it does not sell at the higher level The coin's not really worth anything until someone pays you for it

We just had our Long Beach CA Coin Show in June Cancelled due to Covid I might be able to make the Glendale, CA Coin show in October I have only been to a couple of Coin Shows, and they have been a lot of fun I like going to our Glendale Coin Club, and look forward to actually attending a meeting when we have that one again I like the Auctions, and Raffles we have Last Club Meeting I went to I was extremely lucky!

Same rules apply at a gun and knife shows I used to sell knives at shows around Michigan and we would get guys wanting to sell their prized collections for top dollar Unfortunately most of what comes in isn't what people think it is, and dealers need to make a profit, too If you have a knife that I already have several of that I cannot move, I'm not going to offer much, if anything If you have something that I've been looking for, I might give you top dollar Attitude is also 50 of the deal If you are pleasant and easy to work with, I might give you more than someone who is pushy and tries to dominate my table I've had to call security over to remove belligerent customers before, let alone the thieves looking for a five-finger discount The worst experience I had was with twin thieves standing at opposite ends of my table, each taking turns talking to me while the other one tried to make off with an item on the other end
