I have used coffee break Spanish and also Duolingo I love the Spanish Dict app and they now have real people pronouncing the words I love Coffee Break Español! I have used Duolingo consistently for a year The pros are the didactic nature of the app and progressive way of taking you through the language similar to a school based course The initial lessons are simple but they become more challenging Although it seems game like, it is a serious app I am a physician with a large amount of Spanish speaking patients and over the year of consistently using Duolingo my comprehension has grown immensely There is also a companion podcast The Duolingo podcast has native Spanish speakers telling real life stories and I went from not being able to follow to understanding in a year The cons of Duolingo are not having enough opportunities to speak Spanish and the grammar is not well explained The speech recognition is faulty for numbers and although this is annoying it is a minor issue Duolingo provides a good foundation on which one can build on with a more immersive app or an immersive experience You need to build vocabulary to learn a language I needed to write and read the language beyond just listening My Mexican Spanish teacher recommended Duolingo and Spanish Dict! And I’m so glad he did because COVID happened and I could continue my learning !Estoy muy feliz!
