I truly am disabled, with OCD, anxiety, depression, Tourette's & a hypersensitive ear condition I'm highly speculated to have high functioning autism, as well brbrI never wanted to be on SSI/Social Security The former foster mom & social worker admitted that they lied & said that I was schizophrenic because Social Security kept denying me, saying that I wasn't considered disabled enough brbrI never wanted to be on SSI or Social Security, in the first place! The former foster mom was stealing my money Social Security didn't care brbrI ended up homeless for a few years, & now Social Security administration is criminalizing me for receiving outside help to survive brbrI've been trying to become independent & self-sufficient I get turned down for most jobs, & the few jobs I DO get, I have to deal with workplace mobbing brbrThey REALLY don't want us to have anything

There's a thing called an ABLE account There are certain rules on when you can start an ABLE account, but if you have one you can save up to $100,000 and it not get counted against you for your SSI

This is why so many people with disabilities who are in poverty have to do tax evasion, it's not their fault it's the fact that oh you have to pay taxes if you make over the limit, when the limit itself is so fucking low that you can't build yourself out of the system, which means now you're not a taxable citizen unless you can pay the $20,000 in medical debt out-of-pocket

Where the hell does he live SSDI goes by the credit you earned when working I get 120000 a month, plus Medicare & Medicaid no cost also, prescriptions at low or no cost to me snap, rent assistance The only person I know with the 700 a month are people who never worked and has no SSI credit There are more benefits depends on what state you live in Iowa has the expended Medicaid Good luck to all getting SSDI

I was on disability, it took several months to get approval, a month later they sent me a check for the time between applying and approval, they said it wouldn't count against the $2,000 limit 6months later they declared that I was ineligible for the time my bank account was over the limit, so they docked my checks for a year to repay 2 months of benefits ALWAYS keep all records and names when dealing with a government agency for at least one year for your protection

I worked for a payday loan company a couple of years ago; the fact that a large portion of the clientele were individuals on SSI is something that I will never, ever forget The shameful amount allotted via SSI, the number of people that were using those loans as supplemental income to survive, how badly these people had been failed There were families in which every single individual had revolving payday loans At minimum, these loans were costing each client anywhere from $50-$100 (more often like $200) a month in interest alone, and there were not a small amount of folks that had been taking out loans as often as possible for 5+ years straight I only worked there for about a year, but it was extremely eye-opening

My husband is making 158700 a month in social security While our 2 boys were growing up they needed growth hormone, for both it cost over $30,000 a month So while my husband worked full time I could only work part time so the boys could get Medicaid Most insurance wont cover growth hormone or covers very little They are grown and due to medical issues I am unable to work I'm too young for Medicare and Medicaid says my husband makes so much money I would have to pay $27500 a month for medicaid So in order to get the help I need we have to divorce after almost 30 years so I can get SSI
