My husband and I are trilingual and trying to figure out how to teach our 1 year old son how to learn English, Portugese and Spanish I am really struggling because out strongest language is both English, We communicate together in english and live in the US but have lived abroad I am also half Colombian and my husband is Brazilian American I really want my son to learn Portugese and Spanish and try to speak with him in all three languages Your tips are so great, easy and practical I will use them all!! This is just what we are doing four our quadri lingual gandchildren (same 4 languages) Had a little trouble when explaining the French word for cabbage (“choux”) The 3 yr old granddaughter pointed to her SHOE (also Schue in German) I thought id wait until I have greater mastery of Chinese before teaching her “kan shu” (read book) in Chinese! Good to see that its possible for kids to learn multi languages, My wife speaks english, mandarin and cantonese, where as i speak english, Nepali, Tibetan, french, chinese, and 2 more other languages my kid got opportunity to hear at least 4 languages daily, I am just worried, if her language will be mixed up how you manage to remove kids confusion? I'm wondering why you're adding the German? I'm not trying to be rude but you don't seem to be a native speaker and your kids are adopting some wrong pronunciation etc Is it even useful to have them taught by someone who does not speak a language perfectly? I'm asking because I'm wondering how we will raise our own children - because my husband is bilingual, but one language is significantly weaker and with a strong accent Should he still use it in front of his kids? Loved this! My husband is also french! I have two babies a little boy called, Didier, and A little girl called Nina I am from Wales 🏴 Uk and I only speak English I know the basics of french but can’t hold a proper conversation I try so hard to help my little boy speak french but it’s hard! ( my husband is a chef and works long hours so its difficult for my son to hear french daily) but these tips have really helped! brbrI love the animal game!
