I am comic artist & illustrator since 2015, and I'm selling my products (99,9 of them are physical) online since end of 2016 I made thousands of mistakes in this time, I also have learned a lot, but I'm still not happy with my income And I find your channel very inspirational I respect your business view, and I hope I will take your advices seriously and make a lot of progess with my little company! I LOVED THIS/YOUR VIDEO with that much important information I just have one concern - I am from Spain I am currently living in my hometown, although I ve spent 5 years living in Japan as an artist but I had to come back for personal issues and now I feel the Spanish community / audience is not always happy to invert money in my art or from my fellow Spanish colleagues We could sadly say I am starving artist now in Spain Maybe I should start writing my web page in my bad English and trying to sell overseas … because I think people there are more likely to buy and consume things related to art and culture what to you think? Actually I am focus on illustrating things related to my culture - so I fight as an illustrator to solve some problems we have with our culture, that’s why I do brand voice on my RRSS in my mother tongue but it is been years and it looks no one in my country have interest in their own culture … I am struggling with this Comment from : amouragalaica |

Ms Rodriguez thanks very much, been looking for ways to make honest earning, yet I’ve been raised to believe I cannot use my resources for the sake of personal benefit, which is quite challenging to choose what material to use like that! Any tips on recycled resources that are safe for re use? Comment from : Wackos |

The biggest problem is that the competition is big and you need to work on yourself pretty hard to earn money as an artist (: Comment from : B3rave |

I've been a 'starving artist' for the past 8-9 years and still go the same I have lost hope to earn by my art style I may be wrong but I don't think without having that business/marketing type personality anyone is able to make money with whatever they do As marketing and doing business is another kind of art , so basically you need to have or learn two art forms Comment from : Nilesh Nikalje Art |

Girl, PLEASE Drink Water Comment from : Sarah |

As an artist who's earning basically nothing, these kinds of videos make me want to kill myself It's obviously not your fault It's just that I already knew all of the advice that you said, and yet I can't get my act together enough to earn some money Comment from : Leipziger Gnom |

How about you do this as a side gig till you maybe get your exposure if you do it at all, this is not a guarantied paycheck route, you need to work that 9-5 otherwise you're just not going to get anywhere, so dont quit unless you know you can make enough income and have enough of a following to care to pay youbrbrI've been doing it for 10 years and I've still not got anywhere and charge only 10 bucks for lines and colors, but you're not gonna get anywhere unless you have your connections or mass following who care to spend any money, so I reiterate, keep the 9-5 until you get the exposure to go full art route, you can do it as a side thing for now Comment from : Keybearing Beastar |

Thank you so much for this video! I think it’s a very insightful list and there are probably more options out there I specially like that you say that there is probably something out there for all of us Sometimes the biggest problem is the narrow vision we artist have about ourselves and our work and the secret here is to enjoy the process of finding the income, not the income itself Comment from : Julio Enríquez |

DId Ai change all this stuff Comment from : Andrei PAMANTEANUL |
Oh wow, "starving artists don't exist!" stop being hypocritebrMany people out there have no following to rely on, making all of that is pretty useless, so you should tell right at the beginning of the video that one should put the effort to spread themselves out there and get as much clout as possible You see, from every 1000 people, there are 10 helpful ones, so I guess you're guaranteed a small amount of success once you have more than 100000 followers Less than that is just broke territory Comment from : voidnova |

i clicked expecting a little more in depth detail about the practical aspects of setting up specific things as resource streams, but this is for the most part a list of things people will give money for I would buy a tshirt/badge/painting/whatever, but the knowledge people could really benefit from is HOW and WHERE people could set up and sell these things An Idea of cost involved with some, a little more fine detail Comment from : SEiiBUTSU |

lol, its easy to make money All you have to do is become a graphic designer, storyboard artist, comic book artist and publisher, ebook writer, pattern designer, font designer, toy designer and oil painter while you are spending your free time setting up a print and pin shot and running your mentorship alongside your patreon and your courses you teach Super easy, Oh don't forget events and conventions, should have plenty of time for that once you have this all figured out, especially if you have to account money and travel time So easy, Why didnt we figure this out before?? Thank you Comment from : GINGERBEAR HAUS STUDIO |
