Hello Mr Ramsey, I find it offensive that invasive questions are asked in rental applications It puts prospective tenants at risk for identity theft and more It is invasion of privacy think it is evil How dare they ask for bank statements, account numbers, amounts of balances, tax papers, credit card numbers, etc Even want to scan our pictures from our id cards May be rare that an apartment people find does not go through such extremes I dont blame people for being rightfully upset about invasive practices who rather live homeless or find other ways to live than to put up with such disrespectful invasive crap

I live in the same area as the caller The "no apartments available" is definitely absurd Everywhere in the twin cities has apartments available But it's a matter of meeting the requirements, some complexes are strict for risk management reasons

It depends what state you are in In NY and NJ area There are sooooo many people and landlords can pick and choose So the landlord doesn’t have to accept letters and deposit offers because there are so many people that are better candidates or are in the same boat as you

Cannot speak for other people but when I was fresh out of college and sought an apartment in late 2019, all it took was an offer letter that stated my future role and my expected salary I still had to present pay stubs from my former lifeguard job as well as mention earlier jobs held in college Still, I don't think it's really is that difficult to get approved for an apartment if you sit with a realtor/broker and present the facts behind your situation
