I’m enjoying the bike so far wwwyoutubecom/post/UgkxMesz3KOGEmwmvyKQfLfrRSUXLFzfVHZA My only real complaints are the brakes and the pedals I feel like a bike designed for bigger people should have much larger pedals and more heavy duty brakes I’ve only gotten two really good rides out of it, minimal downhill action, and the brakes feel like they’re already going out A larger person has more momentum, so I think this wasn’t thought through very well Also, I wear size 13-14 wide shoes My feet cramp up on these pedals that are clearly made for smaller feet Since I’m not a pro rider (and I don’t think many are who purchase this bike) I don’t think that the straps on the pedal are necessary at all None of this takes away from the enjoyment I get from riding, however I’ll just head to a bike shop to improve on a few things

I’ve been looking for a first time road bike under 1,500 dollars and can’t find out what more important group set or overall bike weight if been looking at Triban RC520, Shimano 105 Disc Brake Aluminum Road Bike but it’s biggest downfall is its weight but would I be better off getting a lower ground set and a liter bike

It's interesting to me that if you bought a MTB at £1000 that had cable disc brakes (or heaven forfend rim brakes) you'd be appalled, but with road bikes this is still reasonable

Shimano entry level does not mean poor quality Shimano trickle-down quality means today's Ultegra is yesterday's Dura Ace, today's 105 is yesterday's Ultegra, today's Tiagra is yesterday's 105, today's Sora is yesterday's Tiagra, and today's Claris is yesterday's Sora bAll/b are good I have bikes with 105 and a Claris+Sora combo and both shift silky smoothly

After getting it tuned at my local bike shop I opted to fit a bigger cassette with 11-30 gears instead of the standard 25 brAll in all I love my bike and it is so much nicer than most of my riding friends, it also gets me to think about buying a new Fezzari said they make the bikes to measure and I need a bigger frame

I think you guys should do more videos talking about fitness or flatbar bikes as a viable choice for commuting, particularly in cities You can get pretty good fitness bikes that are perfect for commuting easily under 1k It's very easy to fit accessories, bags, mud guards, etc on them They are also robust, easy to steer, and strong, and not always as flashy as road bike (which is great when thinking about theft)

Second hand people who buy expensive bikes tend to really look after them, and people who buy expensive bikes often like to keep up by buying the latest model, so there are some great bargains to be had, there are plenty of guides to buying second hand bikes, and problems to look for, and bikes are relatively simple machines, so many 'problems' will actually be pretty obvious

In my bike shopping experience, it goes like this If you want a new "luxury brand" frame eg Cube, Specialized, etc for under £1000 or €1000, the groupset will very likely be low tier eg Claris and the disc brakes will very likely be mechanical But if you are willing to settle for a "vanilla brand" such as White from XXL or some other "sports ikea" shop, you are likely to get a mid to high tier groupset eg 105 and the disc brakes are likely to be hydraulic discs For example, this Spring I bought a gravel-commuter-tourer bike, a Serious Valparola Disc with a 8x2 Claris groupset and mechanical disc brakes Stealth matt black and 1026 kg Serious is a relatively unknown German brand A very comfortable bike I paid a campaign €595 new reduced from €795 The point is, if that were a same-specified Cube, Specialized, etc, and I have done the comparisons, it would cost from anywhere between €1000 - €1400!

I got into cycling a couple of years ago My knees were shot and the doctor said it was the best way for me to get and stay fit I walked into a bike shop looking for a low cost hybrid bike I was shown a series of new bikes that were all nice but a used bike caught my eye The salesman said they mechanic had just finished refurbishing it It was the same price as the new bikes but had much better components including a Tiagra groupset, a carbon fork and hydraulic disk brakes I tried riding the bike and realized it was a giant step up I have moved on to more expensive carbon framed road bicycles but it is still my go to vehicle for rainy days, grocery runs and rides down the local gravel rails to trails paths I have logged more than 1600 miles on my Specialized Sirrus Hybrid Don't overlook used bicycles You can find a gem Mine cost about $500

It's never mentioned, but sometimes, especially for smaller men, the perfect bike is a women's specific one Sometimes the colours are a bit strange, but the geometry is what you are interested in The same goes for shoes if you have narrow feet
