Question: what are your thoughts about luxury skin care? Is it worth the price? Let’s start a discussion! ☺️ Comment from : Hyram |
It's not about having similar ingredients Just the final product All the ingredients combined in a way you can't replicate Sometimes, luxury brands have exclusive ingredients, but it's not always the case Just because a drug store brand has 2-3 same ingredients doesn't mean it'll react the same way or have the same results Comment from : Léandre Peck |
I’ve used all of the brand you mentioned and while I find some not so worth the money, I really like and really enjoy using others La prairie worked for me when I was in my early 20s La mer was all right, but waaaaay overpriced for what you get I find the formula to old and too generic, to be honest However, I love Sisley and despite the eye-watering price tags, I feel like they are worth it My skin after the application feels different and I’m still absolutely wrinkle-free, despite having just turned 30 Comment from : Hilda Elson |

Sisley Essential Skincare Lotion I'm in my 40s It's mind blowing the difference in my skin when I'm using it vs when I'm not Comment from : Amanda Blythe |
Hi Hyram :) Do you try the SPC cream of SWISS PHARMACY COSMECEUTICALS sell by Swissrevelation? I'd to have your opinon On my skin it has really good effects Comment from : Djordje Bozovic |
Hyaluronic acid is overhyped Please don't base your decision on a skin care product based on whether or not it has hyaluronic acid brThere is a reason why even $2 store brand skin products have hyaluronic acid Think about it Comment from : AK |
Aright, Hyram I love you My mother and I have used many of these products (my mom swears by Sisley, and it shows because she looks SO much younger than her age without any procedure,) and I personally use the la mer These products DO work, you just have to be consistent with them for one, and two, is it possible that just because the "well known" ingredients like niacinimide and Hyaluronic Acid etc aren't in these products, does it mean that other lesser known/harder to come by ingredients can't do the same thing if not better?brThey work More complicated maybe than just "hyaluronic acid" and retinol (which are both great ingredients) But there are more ingredients out there in the world than just those, I do know that seaweed IS inherently hydrating Comment from : Monica Ross |
I use lamer , what products is more inexpensive and I can get similar results? Comment from : Fabiola Gregorio |
Sisley Hydra Global Intense Anti age hydrators is a little over $100, but it's amazing It's definitely not $300 + Comment from : Dave Pane |

I used La Prairie cellular swiss ice crystal emulsion for about two years It was absolutely amazing It minimised my pores, made my skin look clear and beautiful But unfortunately, it has been discontinued- or so I was told What other products could I use to get the same results? Comment from : Dani Maras |
I did say that LA Mer is not all thatbrBut Sisley and specially LA Prairie worth a lot! brBut sometimes that particular product was not for your skin typebrBut there's a lot of not so expensive labels that worths too: shiseido, Chanel, Clarins, Natura Bisse, Natura Siberica, lushbrI think that Clinique and Lancôme are not a good idea Comment from : *fred* |
The sad part is I thought $40 was expensivre for a 15ml serum until I came across luxury skin care 😂😂😭😭😭 Comment from : vicki steyn |
I have used these luxury brand products, and I have used products from the plastic surgeons office which contain growth factors that are even more expensive! But none of them compared or came even close to matching the homemade all natural (not one drop of chemicals) product lines I use where the founders make their products in their kitchens!!!! My skin has glowed from these products!!! Most of them are made from essential oils, and even ghee sometimes I also buy chemical free cleansers made in a kitchen Also, I have greatly improved my skin with lasers, micro needling, and chemical peels Skin care doesn’t cut it guys, you want amazing skin you invest in a good Aesthetic clinic or plastics surgeon Which are even more expensive That’s how these celebrities stay young it’s not a cream But skincare products do not need to be expensive, to work incredibly well Comment from : Destiny Kish |
I actually hate the idea of luxury skincare but SK-II’s essence is really the only product that I’ve used where I actually notice visibly smoother skin Cheaper products just seemed to do nothing for me Now my favorite brands are Nature Republic and SK-II If I don’t spend the large chunk of money on SK-II but instead buy multiple cheaper products that achieve less of a result for the same cost, when a result is really the only thing skincare is after, I think SK-II really is the only way to go for me, even though I hate the company because of their fishy research tactics Comment from : Sasuke S |
Could you please do review on Chantecaille? I bought already some products from them and was never disappointed Comment from : Michaela Filip |
I’ve been using La Mer and Cle de Peau for 20+ years and love them La Mer’s body lotion was the only thing that healed my sunburn in a matter of days, without any peeling And speaking of scientifically proven ingredients, some Cle de Peau products contain retinol btw I have tried good retinol creams from my dermatologist and while they made my skin look fabulous too, I have never seen the radiance that CPB’s La Creme has delivered Comment from : Janette Choy |
What do you think about the brand sensai? Comment from : Elvire Berben |

Yeah I don’t know I just feel guilty buying one item for $500 dollars when I bought a bunch of skincare for me, my cousin and still had money to buy new bedding for about the same price My heart would sink if I did something like that Comment from : QueenApple |
Somebody gave me a whole a La mer skin care set, with the biggest moisturizer they have I think is like $400 value I was in heaven Now is gone and I will never have that privilege again because as good as they are there's no way I can afford it But I'm thankful for that opportunity to try luxury skin care products that many won't have in a life time Comment from : Carla Hubbard |

Looking for advice on which affordable skin care products I should buy Particularly looking for an eye cream for sensitive skin & a facial SPF that does not leave a white cast/is chalky & isn't greasy because that's a horrible feeling & awful look! (Thank you in advance!!! 🖤 🖤 🖤) My current eye cream dried out my skin around my eyes (I found it on Amazon It's $10 & it's by a brand called Kiss Red E I didn't hear of this brand until recently, but it has good reviews & it's affordable, so I thought I found something good for me) My skin around my eyes now burns & is flaky because of this product (I'm not bashing the product because it's still gentle enough to use on my forehand wrinkles twice a day It just doesn't agree with the sensitive skin around my eyes) I'm 31 with dry, sensitive, fair skin with freckles I'm trying to get rid of dark spots, get rid of & prevent wrinkles (I have a couple wrinkles on my forehead), even out my bumpy texture, hydrate my skin (It seems like every time I wash my moisturizer off of my face, I'm back to being dry & tight 🙁), get rid of & prevent acne caused by massive amounts of stress which I just started experiencing, & block the sun's radiation (UVA & UVB), so dark spots, signs of aging, uneven texture, dry skin, pimples caused by stress, & SPF Thank you so much for reading this!!! 😍 If you can recommend products, please remember I have sensitive skin Thank you so much for helping me out because I have no clue what I'm doing & I'm probably using a lot of irritants 😟 Comment from : Perfect Fae |
I've never bought a skin care product for more than $30 Comment from : Perfect Fae |

@Hyram they don't fal short just cos your basic but overly glorified ingredient salicylic acid was not included in the luxury products superior ingredients list Luxury products have quality ingredients that not ur basic cerave or $50 cream will have Fermentation is an expensive process and that's what lux brands do to name a few secrets I'm sorry but not only ur well known synthetic ings like basic acids, ceramides and basic af glycerine are gonna be beneficial in skincare Lux brands use even superior ings that perform better than the mentioned ings You're just a cheapskate that hate on products cos YOU CAN'T AFFORD IT Comment from : Anonymous |
I agree with everything you say, however I can swear that Sisley Reparatice changed my life! I could only afford to buy two units and used them for over a year ( I would only need a very small amount) after that my skin had completely changed and moved to a cheaper moisturizer I had a lot of skin problems and only Sisley helped me Comment from : natayviggo |
Please bare in mid, that the more expensive products have an higher content of the active ingredients Furthermore they usually invest much more into research Comment from : Andrea Sahulova |
I do not refuse to disagree with your information sharing as a consumer of la mer brand skin care, I am satisfied with the effectiveness and now my entire range of skincare products is la mer bronce a while the skin also needs to be treated with luxury as a sign of appreciationbrBut as with any product, what works for one person may not work for another, indeed Comment from : 未知 |
Please do a video about zo skin health!!! Comment from : stine hansen |

I like that he didn't blindly slam luxury skincare brands Some products from these brands are really good I say educate yourself on the ingredients and understand that same ingredients don't mean same quality, know that for some people skincare is a sensory experience (lol) and some people just can afford it and don't mind spending it Love Hyram!! La prairie essence is okay, facial cream cleanser is really rubbish The fragrance is huge and spicy When I was 30 years old, I spent nearly a month’s salary of 4,800 dollars at the time I went to Saks and bought a full set of caviar series blue and white bottles It was useless at all It hurts when I put it on Because the cream is very expensive and the packaging is very expensive nice Reluctant to throw it away, insisted on finishing the application, the effect was not at all, the A acid content is not as good as the 0025 tube ointment prescribed by the skin doctor's office Never enter this pit again! I haven't used La Mer Mineral oil is also one of the ingredients It is like Nivea to me The Sisley and Cle de peau I used are what I am willing to pay Others are not very trustworthy Comment from : Sarina L |
I will never forget when I bought a super expensive face moisturizer and it made my skin greasy and with micro-blackheads 😭 Comment from : Maria Tereza |
Seriously can you tell what brand a person uses by looking at their skin? There are people with great skin using products of almost all types Inexpensive products can be a poor usage experience It's also worth remembering that almost no cosmetic ingredients are well-researched, at least publicly, and these products are cosmetics not drugs We often say vaseline is the best moisturizer but again, seriously? Comment from : Jeremy |
can i just say i agree with your statement that the ingredients is not different but at the same time this isn't true la praire for example has the technology called cellular complex in which the company has kept these ingredients a secret for many years They use the most rare ingredients and may i add that the cellular complex is made to be the nearest to our human cells therefore the ingredients used in a la praire product will be absorbed into the skin better that any other product which for example uses an ingredient such as caviar this is due the the cellular complex technology that they have i can't afford la praire but i also work in skin care and have had a chance to see the results from clients and also from personal trials the difference is incredible Comment from : Kay Archeos |

For something that expensive, i dont want it to be "good like as a primer", or even just to hydrate my skinI WANT IT TO FUCKING ERASE MY PORES (scientificaly impossible i know), BRIGHTEN MY SKIN LIKE THE SUN, PLUMP TF OUT OF MY SKIN if its expensive to that amount, hydration is just not the feature im looking for fucking cheap cerave can do that Comment from : Anonymous |

HYram, I would just LOVE if you would do a review of NIOD's Copper Amino Isolate Serum and their newer Copper Amino Isolate Lipid I am DYING to hear your take on these two products as they are not exactly cheap but I typically trust the Deciem brand Comment from : Chelsea Proffitt |
Hyram, I’ve been using the la mer eye concentrate from a sample I would hate spending that much but I was wondering what would be a similar product for dark circles? Comment from : Mya Toohey |
Could you make a video about ZO skincare? It literally removed my freckles, evened my skin tone and removed acne It has the similar (if not better) results as like an IPL photofacial but it’s so expensive and I want to find the bootleg version but it doesn’t have exact specific ingredients on the products Comment from : annuhlisa |
I work with some of these brands and let me explain, some prices grow cause of the quality of the ingredients or the way of its extraction, the prices SOMETIMES really changes the quality, you can never compare a 500$ cream to a 50$ one, we have clients from both of those prices and the difference in the skin is noticable, in skincare you have to find whats right and what works for you, no matter the price you want to spend, do a try out yourselves and put some lifting caviar from laprairie on your face ,and a lifting one from clinique and you will see the difference as soon as the product touches the skin, one does whats promised, the other one, not as much Comment from : Hugo Pesqueira |

Is it possible that the reason why we wouldn’t find the ingredients that are strongly backed by scientific researches on products of these brands are because they are intended to be hidden from their competitors (eg by using some unique terms such as Brand’s Complex to substitute for combination of several ingredients such as HYA, Niacinamide, etc)?brbrAnyways, thanks for the great content You have my support :D Comment from : Wasupol Indrapiromkul |

-could you review the entire collection of obagi skin care products, especially the new line, Zo skin? i really like the growth factor serum and the ossential cream Which collagen face creams would you recommend? I am 34 years old I want to purchase a new series line Could you review Rejuvi as well? I can read and understand ingredients but not like totally like you do Which series are cheaper and have great ingredients? And how do you feel about Dermalogica? I think there is so many expensive products in series like Elemis, Biotherm has also become ridicilously expensive I know when the products are a fraud, and I believe there is a certain limit of what a product should cost 100 USD for a face cream is way too much even though I tend to like them And you save A LOT if you buy products online that are not fake in any way :) You are very good at doing such reviews Thrustworthy and engaging, talented :) Comment from : Adelaide Holmes |
