If any one is interested in working for USPS This federal job will add on to the years you have served in the arm force They also have very good benefits for a career job opportunity with them so anytime you work for the USPS they add on more time to your benefits if you put in five years or more and you work for the USPS they had on top of that so your benefits payout will be much higher than what you had before

Thats why am getting out pay is to low for what j was used to , they always hit you with the insurance and housing , the only rime i have used the insurance was when I got injured at the field , the housing sucks !!! I can’t wait to go back in civilians and make real money !!

In the military you work a lot of hours and don't get paid overtime and you will live in a barracks and share a room in the navy you are pack in love like sardines thats your free housing civilian life is better in military you have to sign a contract toreceive that free housing and food I like my freedom and I don't mind paying for my and housing and medical I served my 4 years and got the hell out

So I'm and E1 currently in AIT and all through out basic instead of getting 958 per pay check I got 650 ,670 a check and all of a sudden this month I got 650 and with my 2nd check I got $1100 I believe I'm being compensated for being under payed in basic and what not but I amnot sure

If married If you saved up that $4608 and yanno maybe get like a $1200 place And the spouse working a low stress job and living with their money You could do 1 four year contract and get $220k (before taxes) and be set with education Have the money for a down payment for a house And live comfortably I don’t see how people don’t want to join the military Well I wouldn’t wanna have a low asvab and be infantry but still a lot of money

A couple things I see that weren’t mentioned/addressed in the video:brbr1- you will likely work longer hours on average to your civilian counterparts My personal career field averages 1-3 hours a day longer than on the outside while the effective pay is 45 of my civ counterpartsbrbr2: COLA and BAH crisis…, while job pay tends to scale to the region on the outside it does not in the military The closest they have is cola which sometimes works depending on the inflation rate or market but currently there are many many service members unable to afford adequate living quarters due to a stark gap in COLA and BAH and actual housing prices

One thing worth mentioning is state tax It doesn't matter where you are geographically stationed, if you are a legal resident of a state that has state taxes, they may pull those taxes too I recommend to folks who get stationed in a state that doesn't have state tax (like Texas) that if you don't have a good reason to maintain your original state of residency, to change it to the state that doesn't have state tax I was a Florida resident when I was commissioned and entered Active Duty, and maintained it my whole career I never had to pay state taxes because Florida doesn't charge state taxes I retired to Nevada, which also doesn't have state tax, so my retirement pay is only federally taxed

Reserve pay is proportional to AD base pay A typical drill weekend is equivalent to 4 days of AD Take monthly base pay, divide by 30 and multiply by 4 Also, base housing is not really free You collect BAH for housing and the same amount is deducted Depending on which service, the same thing applies to single members in privatized housing
